How are the borderline useless posts from Havo that different from the borderline useless posts from nearly everyone in this game?In post 200, Maki Harukawa wrote:
Mostly has to do with Havo bringing a ton of attention to himself given his iso and his tone doesn't feel like one scum would take he just feels like super pushy annoyed town to me in stuff like that but in other posts he just says comments that are...borderline uselessIn post 108, Havo wrote:Good Grief. Havo played similarly in my last game with him. I was pretty scum pinged by it, but he ended up being town.-

That definitely would fit the playstyle that I've seen from wavemode so I think I buy this.In post 207, Tchill13 wrote:As for throwing shade on someone Becton lack of experience.... That comes off as NAI to me. More egotistical than to do with the game itself Imo.-

It is certainly better to ask them for their thoughts, it's a great way to enable discussion and as I mentioned I think that's the good part about your posts, but I see what Jodaxq (I think?) was getting at as there's not that much new content from your side. I'm not sure if that's worth a scumread for now however since as I said you're enabling discussion and I doubt that's what scum would want to do.In post 184, davesaz wrote:Is it better to ask people questions aimed at finding out the reason behind their posting, or assume what their reason was?
I like these postsIn post 220, HeWhoSwims wrote:
Let's look into these. In post 206, Tchill13 wrote:2 scum in (Dave, beef, screen, odd)
Dave - Just talked about him, I don't think his actions warrant a scumread from me for now as the game is young.
Beef - Hard to read. I talked about him flipping votes between Tchill and oddmusic early on and I'm honestly not too sure what to make of that but I lean towards keeping an open mind which is pro town. However there is stuff like his reaction to Havo in 154. But afterwards questions others, argues for a longer day which I would find logical (more intel and I honestly doubt PRs suffer under it? Unexperienced though). And he posts his reads which is good I think. My mind says nulltown but my heart says null somehow because some stuff seems weird and I don't know with which of those two to go for now.
Screen - For now my top suspect out of these four. Looking at his iso I feel like most of his posts aren't contributing that much (although he has okay content like 52). Samples in 40 47 75 129, and I'm also not sure what to think of him suggesting giving Havo a free pass since I'm not getting big town vibes from him either for similar reasons.
Odd - On second thought still a tad suspicious for having few posts and that whole reaction-to-srceen post. However his train of thought in 66 seems towny for me. Needs to contribute more.-

This was a good catch though. I definitely missed this while reading his posts. In post 222, davesaz wrote:
This hits me as a place where you wanted to say something else but then couldn't figure out how to say it. What you ended up with was mind and heart thinking roughly the same thing which seems odd to state them both. @TChill: you still haven't answered why you think it's a good idea to quickhammer on day 1. I'm not looking for right or wrong answers; I just want to pick your brain. Please don't dodge. On hiatus indefinitely. This was a nice distraction when I was working through my faith transition out of Mormonism, but I need to move on to bigger and better things now.

Because it never does. We have just as much chance at catching scum on day 1 by closing our eyes and throwing darts at a board as we do with endless interrogations. In post 233, Beefster wrote:

The first one doesn’t bore everyone to death and cause replace outs because the Day has dragged on for 2 weeks.
If we haven’t lynched someone by Friday night, I’ll be glad to eat rope.-

The real optimum is between. Wagon motion is important. Response to wagons are important. But there is nothing inherently wrong with forging ahead after some data is generated. And it’s not true that scum are never caught day 1.Wanna play Minecraft with your ms friends? Check out the minecraft thread, or the channel on discord-

Sorry. My bad. Missed that.
I guess we have two separate camps of thinking. Just remember that days are not discrete events. Sure, if you compare the beginning of day 1 to the beginning of day 2, day 2 has more information. Thing is, night doesn't bring much new information to the table. Sure, there are results from cops and whatnot, but they're guessing blindly if you end day 1 too soon. But I guess confirming town is still useful, so there's that. Aside from information gained from power roles, all that night gains the town is a smaller pool to choose from for finding scum. Isn't it better to have both thatanddata from the day before?
I don't think we necessarily need a full two weeks, but I don't think we should be rushing ourselves either. On hiatus indefinitely. This was a nice distraction when I was working through my faith transition out of Mormonism, but I need to move on to bigger and better things now.

Why do you think it is that games here typically start at day when face-to-face games typically start at night? In post 236, Havo wrote:

Personally, it threw me off the first game I played because it started at day, but I quickly realized the game plays very different on forums than it does face-to-face. A lot more analysis and no need for a poker face. Thing is, no matter the format, the role you have affects the way you play the game, both consciously and subconsciously. Those things are what makes the game interesting, not necessarily the crazy shit that happens in the night phase. If you want crazy shit, theme games are where it's at.
Anyway. That's enough theory ranting. It has at least been informative getting a feel for playstyles. Havo seems to be the type of player who wants to have a good time more than he wants to win... and you know what, that is totally okay. I still don't know what to make of him, but I at least have a baseline to work with. Just know that I will not lynch you if the only reason is that you don't want to deal with a 2 week day 1.On hiatus indefinitely. So your solution is to stop playing and just say "I'm at a loss"?In post 245, Srceenplay wrote:I’m only town leaning one person.ShowTown 21-21-1
