I both hate his reasoning and the fact that he voted a townie.-

I have a firm belief that the 3rd vote is the stupid easy scum vote during RVS
I have never been the 3rd vote-

This doesn't make sense to me. I find the last 2 or 3 to be more suspicious if anything. They're usually the ones hanging back away from the spotlight, and if there is pressure on 2 or 3 people, they have the power to "innocently" nudge the game towards the one or the other, to suit their agenda. In post 53, thenewearth wrote:I have a firm belief that the 3rd vote is the stupid easy scum vote during RVS

Even so, I wouldn't bank too much on vote order at all.-

Not sure whether OMGUS or you're just joking with your reasoning there. Also this post gives me a bit of a LAMIST vibe though not sure whether thats more caused by your genuine excitement for the game or something else.In post 52, brassherald wrote:

What do you dislike about it?Nauci wrote:Dislike!!!
You've literally never been the 3rd vote on a wagon? Is that to prevent others who think the same as you from assuming you're scum or because you like to wait to see who else is gonna be the 3rd vote on a wagon? In post 53, thenewearth wrote:I have a firm belief that the 3rd vote is the stupid easy scum vote during RVS

Any reason in particular it makes you uncomfortable?Dalven wrote:Also, I'm not comfortable with the 3 to 1 to 1 to 1 to 1 we have going on.

I uphold my principles
also if you don't get it that much, its not EXACTLY the 3rd, Its the middle count of the vote
It usually gets the least notice, somewhere scum would like to be-

I feel like pushing someone noticeably far ahead gets people too focused on a single person. Especially so early. Do you agree/disagree?In post 58, Locke113 wrote:

This makes sense. I'll at least buy the fact that it makes sense to watch to see if your 3rd or middle voter is engaged in the game.In post 59, thenewearth wrote:I uphold my principles

I think I understand what you mean, the first votes on a wagon get attention cause they're starting a new one and the last ones get attention because they put the person to either L-1 or is the hammer vote so between those votes would be the ideal time for scum to vote in theoryIn post 59, thenewearth wrote:I uphold my principles

I agree but I also don't, someone being much farther ahead in votes can absolutely get everyone focused on that purpose but it can also serve a purpose. Even if the people voting don't think the person is scum, it can allow for town to see how that person responds to the pressure of being voted by multiple people. Though I also think that while in theory its safe to put someone to L-1 as long as you announce it in a way that is easy for everyone to notice, if its done early when the players voting probably don't have any solid reads yet it might be a tad silly if they expect that person to claim, which is part of the whole point of taking someone to L-1In post 60, Dalven wrote:

It'd be a tad stupid for the guy to claim at L-1 RVS as wellIn post 62, Locke113 wrote:tad silly if they expect that person to claim, which is part of the whole point of taking someone to L-1-

So, I have full probably stupid reasoning that I didn't really want to share here for my vote because its probably overthinking.
Cabd did a very early town read which I thought was a little strange, then almost immediately Locke voted the person he had a town read on, it just happens to be me. My feeling is that, I wouldn't be super surprised if there was an early town read by one scum, then another scum starts to vote against that person. The idea, to me, being that either a scum's town read is confirmed, or a scum is outed early, protecting the initial scum later on.
Basically, I am saying that I am suspicious of both Locke and Cabd right now because it looks to me, and it may just be inexperience and me thinking too much, that this could be a play.-

You know, I've been trying to draw scum in every single game since my "return" to varying degrees of failure; but within the newbie queue I'm happiest with the role I've gotten. There's something... more easy.. about playing IC and town vs IC and scum, having seen several Scum ICs struggle with the duality; I don't wish to be in their shoes.

Right so this is a classical logical mistake that people make. You're effectively using your feelings about one player's scumyness as the entire reason to scum read the other, without any actual flip or data that gives your initial read any merit. If you want to scumread me, that's great, but if that's the case, if you want to be helpful to town, you need to case out why you feel that way independently. In post 69, brassherald wrote:So, I have full probably stupid reasoning that I didn't really want to share here for my vote because its probably overthinking.

Scum's job is simply to live.
Town's job is not only to get their reads right but also to get OTHERS to agree on those reads. You can't win the game alone as town. That's why "showing your work" is so important.Currently in COVID hell, population: Entire Household
