So... this people-pleasing thing is a lot less developed to FL than I thought. I mean, it jived with me a little bit, and I implied that he found it scummy and that he thought Seph's read list was somewhat fabricated as a result. Then he said he wasn't sure if it was important and even unsure who it would be appealing to and now and it feels like unnecessary shade and/or he's backed off a push he knew he couldn't continue with.
And another thing he's pushed that I dislike is that there was no reason to townread him or Screen. There's quite the arrogant undertone in this I feel, that he can control everyone's reads and anyone who doesn't follow is suspicious. When someone reveals a townread, I don't think the natural route is to say there's no reason to townread them, but instead ask why and then counter the argument. This, again, feels like unnecessary shade.

Well, there was no reason to bring it up in the first place. It's not something I can articulate well, in fact, none of this is something I feel I articulated well, so I'll just leave it at that.
