This is an exhibit of what we call a heat of the moment overreaction which only happens if someone is already in a mindset of defending. Seeing as the slot was previously in an attacking stance/tone I can only assume it is because they are expecting to get attacked. This is generally only something that happens to scum or people that have wagons on them. The latter is not true.
