@Mod: If the Lyncher target is mafia, does town still win upon mafia lynch?

Yes. The Lyncher will exit the game with a victory and the Town will win because all threats will have been removed. Due to the nature of these roles, in certain scenarios, multiple alignments may win the game simultaneously.

To clarify: If the Mafia dies N1 and the Lyncher manages to also attain their win-condition the next day, this doesn't steal the win from the town. The lyncher will claim a joint win with the Town. Normally, a Lyncher being the last "scum" alive would end the game with their loss. However, in this game, they still have the chance to win with the town if they are still alive.

I'm pretty confident that Not-Maf is scum (jester or Mafia), Jay is town.
Vax could be scum searching for power roles or could be town. Unsure still at this point.
Math is striking me as our lyncher. He seems really trigger-happy right now.
Drealm also strikes me as a town.
So my town is between him, me and Jay. Maybe Vax instead of Jay, depending on how this works out.

Honestly? The jester knows there's no actual jester out there, the lyncher knows there's no real lyncher out there. Both are ill-equipped to jesterhunt/lyncherhunt.

Everyone's played mafia before though, it's much easier; call someone scum, get them lynched, don't get lynched yourself.

I'm basically suggesting you can find the lyncher by figuring out who's shit at finding the lyncher. Being "trigger-happy" is not the hallmark of a lyncher, who needs to get a specific person lynched.

I don't expect the lyncher to beeline their target right away. I expect them to bounce around all day and eventually settle on their target with a damning case. Hunting for lynchers with a target this early is asking to be wrong (or to accidentally lynch a jester).

hmm, none of that makes me follow how you've discovered with such certainty that James is the lyncher, and honestly it seems a bit like some fluff that you thought would sound good rather than actual good thoughts

but, aside from that...

a lyncher would want someone lynched (that isn't their target) that they deem in the way of them achieving a lynch on their target, and other more complex things that you seem to be dismissing in favor of something more simplistic, which while I don't disagree with the possibilty that a lyncher will "settle on their target with a damning case", even that isn't necessarily so simple an option for them that THAT'S HOW IT'S GOING TO BE

Imagine the lyncher's target is me, who seems to be getting generally TR. Now, we're far from Day over / a lynch, sure, but for argument's sake, let's say I'm not getting lynched today - so what does the lyncher do if I'm their target? They could sit back and hope things turn in their favor over the next 2 game Days (if that's so they shouldn't have joined this game), or, if they're pursuing their wincon with vigor, what they need to do is try and set me up. In that situation, the last thing the lyncher wants to do is help me lynch scum. If I'm on a wagon and we lynch it and it flips yakuza, the lyncher is not going to get me lynched. They either have to try and convince others that I'm the lyncher or yakuza + hope that I push a townie to lynch and that the next Day they can push my lynch.

I don't think the lyncher's target is NM, because I think that'd be an easy push at this point and no one is joining me on the wagon.

I am pretty confident in dino being the lyncher at this point:

James uses the term "trigger happy" to describe dino and then part of dino's response to me includes "being "trigger-happy" is not the hallmark of a lyncher," (kind of feels slipped in there)

Drealm, the Lyncher gets to become a Neutral Survivor who only has to live to win if their target dies Night one. They can literally wait it out. Did you forget the accusations that Dino is the Jester?

And another thing Dino does- he told me this himself -He always has a good reason to scumread someone. He thinks James is the Lyncher so he wants him gone. He's also probably betting on getting hung day 2 or being converted by the Yakuza.

I don't think hanging Dino in this situation is the right play.

At this point yeah. And while he's calling James the Lyncher, and I called him the Lyncher twice... I know for a fact I can trust Dino in finding the other scum for me, even if he is one himself.

So James is Lyncher/Yakuza faking Lyncher.

why can't dino be lyncher? or, what makes you think it not likely/less likely while james is that much more likely?

Dino doesn't trust me but he trusts James less appearantly. I've done the same thing in other games.
