I liked your reaction to my goofiness and if the hydra is town we potentially have four people solving privately.

I am early townreading Menal and I want a thread with him. The hydra is a bonus. If they’re scum, we have two people to potentially mess up in the private thread, if they’re town, we have four town players solving the game and able to do so privately.
But what about two townies? In post 79, Heaven wrote:"Mess up"?In post 72, Slaxx wrote:Look here Plato...jkIn post 69, Sujimichi wrote:I understand what they are. My question was why are we voting for them, and what is the benefit in doing so?

I think the most likely scenario for a hood with scum and a townie is that scum pockets the townie, not anything else.
Thank you. I disagree with the conclusion of your assessment, especially since Neighborhood formation requires the approval of a larger group of players rather one originally established or one formed via role ability, but I appreciate your explanation. In post 72, Slaxx wrote:Look here Plato...jkIn post 69, Sujimichi wrote:I understand what they are. I'm not a detective but I wonder if you and Slaxx memeing aggressively at the start of the game was offputting to people. In post 48, Menalque wrote:why is this game so dead? we have 2 slots who haven't posted at all yet

What is it about the other that you two are using to form your early Townreads? In post 74, Menalque wrote:I have a suspicion on who the silent partner in the hydra may be in which case they should be an easy read
ditto on the early townlean on slaxx
Give the game a little time before you assume it will be always dead. For instance, my activity varies wildly with the general activity of the game and my engagement with it.In post 57, Menalque wrote:my main thing with the get a room feature is that I think overuse is gonna be anti-town
like main thread is dead enough as things stand, and if people are spending most of their time in rooms instead of in main thread it's going to be a lot of second hand reading (X: "yeah Y is being really towny in our room") vs direct reading
I think you mean Socrates, lolIn post 72, Slaxx wrote:Look here Plato...jk
Congratulations, you figured out why it wasn't okay for him to post that.In post 75, Heaven wrote:Idea: get every possible pair in the game to post this. We're guaranteed to win.
I mean, your mileage may vary. Some people are more prone to hood pocketing, and those people should hopefully be vocal about it so we can try to help them look critically at their neighbor's posts. Having multiple hoods per person will probably help because then you can bounce reads on your neighbors off of each other and they might be able to help you avoid getting pocketed. In post 79, Heaven wrote:I think the most likely scenario for a hood with scum and a townie is that scum pockets the townie, not anything else.
Don’t want to get too caught up on mechanics. But. I kinda went over that. That’s why I want to go in with an early town read.In post 91, SirCakez wrote:VOTE: sujimichi

I don't see the advantage of gamesolving in the rooms, personally. And it's easier for scum to pocket in hoods.
Thank you.In post 92, Slaxx wrote:@Suji
Early amount of attention he’s drawing to himself + the way he was goofing around with me felt natural and not forced or awkward. Sometimes some people try to act lackadaisical and you can clearly tell they’re uncomfortable.
It’s a page 2-4 read, obviously it’s still early, but I feel good enough about it to vocalize it now.

You think mafia can pocket two people in a neighborhood? And that the risk of that outweighs the benefit of talking the game through with someone you think is town?In post 95, SirCakez wrote:I know and I just disagree. In post 93, Slaxx wrote:Don’t want to get too caught up on mechanics. It's possible. When I've been scum I've found it easier to pocket people in hoods because there you don't have as many town to influence them, so your words matter more. Also you can use personal appeals more easily. In post 96, Slaxx wrote:You think mafia can pocket two people in a neighborhood? I’m open for your justification on that.
Activity in the thread and activity in the neighborhood are not mutually exclusive. In post 97, Heaven wrote:You really think you've got something to talk about 's better said in private already?
For someone who thinks we need more activity that looks a little counterproductive, yeah? Say what you're gonna say in the open.
