Mafiagame on IRC
There are games being held on IRC in channel #mafiagame, EFnet server (irc.efnet.com). Most of the games have 7, 9, 11 or 13 players, with 2-3 mafia, one informant (who can find out roles of players) and one bodyguard (who can protect players at night).
The pace of the game is much closer to how it is played in real life, than the games here. I can certainly appreciate the slower paced games on the message boards, but you don't get that instantaneous reaction from players after a crucial point in the game that you can get in real-time.
For more information, go to http://userpages.umbc.edu/~aleks1/mafiarules.html .
To get on IRC, you can use this page: http://chat.efnet.info/irc.cgi or download mIRC, an IRC client, from http://mirc.com/get.html .

Mastermind of Sin played as two players, obviously knowing the roles of both players. This is one of the most blatant things you can do to mess up the game. Since he obviously did this intentionally, he is banned. This may have been a joke to you, MoS, but it wasn't funny to the other players who invested time in that game just to be cheated.-

Dude, seriously...excessive stupidity is one thing, but multi-playing? That's a bannable offense on MOST online games. If true, I've got no sympathy for you...and I'll be wary of playing with you here...Mastermind of Sin wrote:whoops...i got banned...stupid pricks...can't take a joke...Retired as of October 2014.-

I played in two games - one where I didn't know the rules (how many cops there were, what kinds of cops, etc), and one where I did. Even though I got killed the first day in the second game (because no one saw me the first night), it was a funner game than the first one. The first game was pretty frustrating because we had no clue what the game was about.
It's a fun variant though. A lot less acting-dependant, and almost pure deduction.-

I must admit - You guys did pretty well for the first game. Especially considering, you guys never played with secret role setups and havnt dealt with cops with sanity levels other than sane.
I forget who the name was - but I over heard somebody 'quitting #mafia game forever' because of the lying OPS(mods). I think she said she was gonna quit and flee to mafiascum.net which I found quite funny. The extra in is for /in-
