Welcome to the Salem Institute for the Less-Than-Sane. I hope you... enjoy, your stay. While it lasts, anyway.

Our fine institution has recently acquired new staff; due to cut backs from the local government, we had to settle on some rather unqualified people. In fact, their idea of curing the mentally ill is turning them loose on an unsuspecting world. The poor patients, of course, are not equiped to handle such a thing. Who knows what might happen if one was let out to face the world alone.

The Psychiatrists should be careful, though. Having a mob of scared loco patients is not something they really want.

Can the Psychiatrists acheive the government's agenda of shutting down this fine facility? Can the patients defend themselves against being unceremoniously released to the cruel world? Am I wearing pants? Most of these questions will be answered soon, in Padded Wall Mafia.

Documentary

For years, the Salem Institute for the Less-Than-Sane has been one of the most respected medical facilities in this neighborhood. The recovery rate for patients was... well, not the worst ever, and the staff was always... well, not mean, anyway.

Unfortunately, the government can't afford to keep this place at it's best. So, the new staff of the Salem Institute for the Less-Than-Sane has started releasing patients, whether they're ready to be released or not...

Footage from this evening. The door to the institute opens, and a nutty looking young man walks out in to the fresh air for the first time in 3 years. His name is Josh.

Josh:

Finally! Free! Free to...

With that, Josh throws himself in front of a car. He dies instantly.

One of the unfortunate consequences of the governments decision to lower funding is that, well, the locks don't work. They haven't worked for years, but the patients were too crazy to test them out. However, upon hearing the screech of tires, some of them have come out of they're rooms...

Footage from the room of a patient named Noah, scribbling poetry on the wall.

Look, the wall is white.
It is also soft, bouncy.
I shall go to sleep now.

Noah is a bit obsessive about some things. For example, he insists that everytime he writes or speaks, all the sentences have the same number of letters. He also, apparently, doesn't like when only one of his arms are chopped off by a Psychopath.

Noah:

Bah, that's all wrong! Cut my other off too.

And so, the Psychopath cut Noah's other arm off, as well as his head.

Meanwhile, Will was walking around with his eyes closed. Seeing this easy sleeping target, another Psychopath leapt out and stabbed him numerous times with a butter knife. Ow.

As the sun set, the patients gathered for breakfast, and noticed that not everyone was there (after checking with each other to make sure they weren't just imagining things. They found the two dead bodies, and then thought to look through the window to the outside world, where they saw Josh's corpse by the side of the road. The angry mob of crazy people immediately went to the doctors' offices...

But the Psychiatrists had already disguised themselves as patients. Muttering incoherently, the group returned to finish their breakfast and decide what to do.
