Split motive role names

Does it make sense, in a split-motive game where your role
name
(Mayor Quimby, Jane Doe, etc) has absolutely no bearing on your
motive
(Scum/Town/Neutral/SK/Cult/etc), to reveal the pseudonyms from the opening post, as the mod?

My thought is no, because sometimes they can reveal details about your powers (if any) that the player may not want to face from D1, but I wanted to see what other people thought.

In 'Reservoir Dogs', of course, everybody's pseudonym was out in the open from D1, but that's slightly different as there were three factors ("name", powers, and motive). I think that just confirms that the mod should let the player decide when to reveal ANY information about themself... it's a little like Celebrity X, it's game mechanics that make things work, not necessarily realistic.
Retired as of October 2014.

If the rolename gives away information about the abilities, I'd say no (unless you're trying to do something different for the sake of different - wasn't that the concept behind Back to Gambits?). If the role abilities as well as the alignment were set separately from the rolename, then sure.
