Hey! This is a site called "RiddleLux"(ury). It's in a format where you start in one place, figure out the puzzle/code/riddle to get to the second one, and so on and so on! Some are hidden in topics, where you can find before you need to, but are nearly impossible without past experiance. An example is when you find 13. You need what's listed there plus the password from the last puzzle.

A new addition there is (surprise surprise!) mafia! I have just made that section a few minutes ago, and I think I have it set-up correctly! ;)

Let me know in the suggestions forum (or by PM) if there's something you want implemented, the bugs forum if there's something wrong with the site, and an updates forum where you can keep track of the latest updates!

I'm not a big riddle fan. As for mafia, why not play here?

Because the Queues are basically overloaded.

Won't they become more overloaded if you drain away players?

... What? That makes no sense.

Plus: The sites as boring as it was, so I had to add SOMETHING new...

It does make sense. If the queues are overloaded (and I agree that it's a problem), it's because the supply of mods is greater than the supply of players willing to play in their games. Playing a game on your site instead of here would make that problem worse.

Why would I play on both if I can play all my games here, where there's already a bigger community dedicated to mafia? Having more players in the same place is good.

I wouldn't discourage anyone from going to your site for the non-mafia parts, of course. But I really do think mafia would be more fun if there were a larger community in one place.

Yeah, but I'm trying to bring people from other popular sites onto RiddleLux also. Most of them have never even heard of mafia before. I want them to be able to play while having other things to do.

Viper, rather than repeat previously mentioned arguments, I'll simply make a link to the last attempt to recruit people to play mafia at another site. It's generally disapproved of.

If you want to start mafia on riddlelux, I suggest convincing the people who are already there that it is a good idea, rather than trying to draw people from this site.

If you want to promote riddlelux as a puzzle solving site, the Grey Labyrinth might be a more appropriate place to advertise (specifically in their visitor puzzles forum in discussion).
I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.

Well, people already there (only 3-4, maybe 5 I might add) are pretty sick of it.

I don't really want to register at a forum just to advertise you know.

Well whatd'ya know? Glad that trying to get people to my forum is a bad idea.

Trying to steal people from mafiascum to play mafia somewhere else is a bad idea, yes. Trying to get puzzle gamers to go to a puzzle site is a GOOD idea.

Seriously, viper: go read the last thread on this topic, it's almost identical to yours except that he was supremely rude about it and you aren't, thankfully. I just don't think you see how, if you DO draw players over there from here, it'll just end up overloading your queues there. And splitting players' attention between two sites means that the quality of their play on both sites is likely to suffer.

Looks like a new ethics thread....

Then when signing up for a game you'd have to consider the possibility that it will never fill up, or takes so long to fill that half the players don't confirm when it does.

All right! I get it already! Trying to get traffic is bad, so just let this thread die in peace.
