One of the following four set-ups is used for this game:

a) 2 mafia, 1 cop, 1 doc, 3 townies
b) 2 mafia, 1 cop, 4 townies
c) 2 mafia, 1 doc, 4 townies
d) 2 mafia, 5 townies

Note: in view of the number of players, we will start in the day phase, although most larger games start with a night. The mafia will be allowed to communicate pre-game, though no role will submit choices until Day 1 is over.

Possible roles:

You are the mafia

. You may only talk with each other during the game's "night," not during the "day." You let me know before the night's deadline who will be your victim. You win the game when all the other players are dead.

You are the cop

. Every "night" before the deadline you send me a message with a name of your choice, and I will let you know whether that player is mafia or not. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

You are the doctor

. Every "night" before the deadline you send me a message with a name of your choice, and that player cannot die if attacked by the mafia that night. You cannot heal yourself. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

You are a townie

. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

STUFF FOR DAY 1:

Most games usually start off with random votes, and lynch minus two (two votes from lynch) is usually where the line is drawn for the first few pages. Why? Well, if you put someone at two votes, and the mafia want to speedlynch, they have to give away both of their members.

Lynch Minus (-)1 (one from lynch), is alot more dangerous, as it allows scum to speedlynch, but when we lynch one of those, we only have one lynched scum, while the other hides on day 3, and presumably cruises to an easy win.

Any questions about the game (rules, pms, whether it's ok to post or not) should probably be sent to the mod.

Any other questions can be answered by the local IC's.(I'm assuming that's me and Mnowax, though I know Tinvision has played elsewhere)

Also, NO ONE TELL US YOUR ROLE, or what's in your pm.

STUFF FOR DAY 2:

First off, Lylo is lynch or lose. If mafia can win if you lynch wrong.

In this game, mislynching a townie will make you go into lylo, and scum can speedlynch if you place a vote. So if we lynch wrong today, DON'T PLACE A VOTE TOMORROW UNTIL YOU'RE SURE!

(just trying to compile all of the normal newbie stuff into one post, to try and "enrich" the game for later, and HOPEFULLY avoid an early deadline.)

In Mafia, WIFOM arguements are usually a Scum tactic used to distract the Town.

I'm not technically an IC, but I'll respond to your question anyway since I have several games elsewhere under my belt.

No, WIFOM cannot be a town tactic to distract scum. The town has no interest in “distracting” the scum. Misdirection and confusion are the tools of the scum to cast suspicion on others and avoid being lynched. The town, ideally, uses keen observation and rational argument to further its goal (its only goal) of ferreting out the scum. WIFOM is sometimes inevitable, but never helps the town, and will generally be viewed as scummy behavior.

Secondly, the time between the fourth vote and the lynch is called

twilight

. Talking is generally fine during this time, however, unvoting will not save the condemned at that point.
