I think we're seeing clidd's situation much differently. If someone is so demotivated that they're barely playing I wouldn't get any pride from beating them as scum. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it happen very often that a townie replaces out in a key spot when they've been manipulated into bad reads. Obviously it really sucks for scum when it happens. I really don't think it was an "ejector button" for strategic benefit though.-

I don't think I've ever really been upset with a replace out but I feel similarly. Particularly I feel bad for Pooky who I think was having a scummie level game and definitely had a real chance to win.In post 935, PookyTheMagicalBear wrote:Like I'm not even fustrated that we "lost", I was just really really curious to see if that line of play would've won and I feel so unsatisfied not knowing the answer :<-

Regarding the setup, I think scum needs a night kill, or maybe even just a single night kill, to have a better shot.
Re: the checks, it's a neat concept but once we had conftowned clidd it didn't make sense to pick different targets as we'd just risk doing the same. Maybe make the checks random while needing up the scum side to make things more interesting? I dunno, I'm still fairly new to this stuff.-

Yeah, pretty much this.In post 930, Infinity 324 wrote:I understand why it's frustrating for you, but no one is obligated to play a game they're not enjoying and I'm giving clidd the benefit of the doubt that that's why he replaced out.-

Clidd, if I enjoy playing with you.
That's why I was disappointed to see you replace out.Show"I hope one day I can openly play as wolfy as Pooky and get zero pressure for it grumble grumble."

Well, sorry, but I couldn't really keep my motivation to a good chemical level to stay in the game.In post 959, PookyTheMagicalBear wrote:Clidd, if I enjoy playing with you.

fwiw, clidd, i don't want to avoid future games with you because i genuinely do enjoy playing with you
i don't think the rep-out was a Good Thing (at least for the game), but maybe my own perception of it is skewed because, while i do believe in "you signed up for it, power through it", pretty much every game i personally play is an utter mess to me by lategame so maybe i'm used to "powering through it"
i hope you didn't take anything what i said personally, it wasn't meant as personal, it's a sorta site culture thing that i've been thinking about for a while now for which this was a spark to start the discussionI will straight up disregard all reason if you have a PR dream again. You can come back and be like, “I dreamt that Locke is a N2 Bulletproof Multitasking Cop and Self-Targeting Doctor,” and I will go, “Okay, Locke kill it is then.”~M-

Idea: Keep the mechanic. Give scum a night kill. Randomly choose who will be the two people picked, but scum can pick one person each night that will NOT be checked. Not sure what the town:mafia ratio should be here but I think this setup gives scum more agency and would be more fun by giving town more info.I prefer they, thanks :)-

That doesn't normally happen (when I replace out), but luckily I had a mechanical reason to be a townread here without having to townspew much.In post 972, Ythan wrote:You left me a very nice slot Clidd.
