It's convenient that he could kill me with town's blessing. Not giving him agency was a mistake.
I think using hail was a mistake too. It's negayive utility wjen you've got role madness. And it's a lot less fun. Day 3 was just plodding along with nothing happening.

That being said, Pirates are somewhat anti-town in utility and a pirate elim is better than a town elim if we have Pirates... and benign 3ps left to late game is a bad idea
But we literally cannot win without defeating scum
