Combat: Halberdier (aka foot soldier that focuses on spears.) Decent fighter with good HP and speed.
Description: Cheerful, confident and nurturing toward new recruits. Danved has a silly streak and encourages others not to take life too seriously. He is suspiciously similar to Devdan, in that they look alike and both speak in third person sometimes.

Combat: By default, a shuriken-user. Counters mages especially well.
Description: Patient and thoughtful, Kaze's the younger ninja bro who's competent, just a little less spicy and famous. He waits years to reunite with the protagonist in order to swear fealty to them. He does tease friends lightly at times, but doesn't go too far.
Trope: There's a trope of red/green duos where the red one is the more laid-back or brazen, and the green one is more stoic and serious. Kaze's the "green" ninja of Fates.

Description: Kagetsu is very curious about the world and can be a little misunderstood. He is expressive and enjoys connecting with others and developing his skills. One of his quirks is that he makes very accurate predictions about useless information. He's originally from a foreign land, and seems to harbor mixed feelings about where he came from.

He inspires people to fight back against the very corrupt powers that be. Seliph is cautious and brave, and often expresses concern for the well-being of those that choose to fight alongside him.

Combat: A pretty good anima elemental mage who's a tad unlucky. Eventually can become a healer too.
Description: Erk is the gracious, diligent, reserved and self-deprecating apprentice of a powerful sage. He contracts as a bodyguard; when we first meet him, seeing him get a little flustered by his employer's annoying behavior provides comic relief. He is pretty mature about the situation though.

Combat: N/A for the most part. He's an unusually likeable NPC in the first game he appears in.
Description: The Gatekeeper is always seen at the entrance to the monastery. He seems to care more about being a welcoming presence than being a vigilant guard. He's really friendly and chatty, as well as informative about current events.
