I'm being attacked repeatedly by Prohawk over a joke about my name. I've explained myself about said joke and put out pertinent information about the game from my role and given a read I feel good about. I've been somewhat hounded about said joke by someone acting dumb and people are jumping on me for explaining myself to someone who is attacking me.

Seiko, I'm not scum-reading Aeris. Her defensive walling and tunneled focus seems to be a playstyle thing more than anything. Claim-softed seems town-motivated, but could come from a scum slot. Ultimately, just seems like a frazzled townie to me. I hoping she'll focus on something other than ProHawk and move onto paying attention to the whole of the game and giving as much effort and insight there as she has elsewhere.

regardless of what you think now, the original reasons for the read still stand

the entire point is that you first started questioning her because you thought the way she originally responded to hawk was "suspicious". this means that you thought she was scum for it. I think your reasons for doing so at the point where you did were awful, for reasons I'll likely elaborate on after I wake up tomorrow bc it's 3 AM and I'm about to pass out right now (and I don't really see much of a point in making a bunch of wall cases this early in the game).

the way you backed off it is a point in favor of you actually trying to sort her here, but 1. this isn't a town tell in this setup given scum would be genuinely trying to sort people to some extent, 2. I really don't see how you could have thought hawk's reasons for suspecting Aeris held any merit at all and I would have expected most players to back off as soon as Aeris kept saying as much a bunch of times.

Another thing I was gonna say is that the Jaqen-Varsoon buddying came out of nowhere and it really doesn't sit well with me. There might be a good, town based reason for it but I'll err on the side of caution and keep an eye on the interactions between these two specifically.

I've been reading and I haven't noticed any significant going on. Hawk got more active but I don't know what that would indicate, and Aeris went silent after she cast that "TIP might be scum because of his first game as scum meta hurr" line so I still think there's scum between Aeris and Jaqen.

Recently I've begun to feel that Focus Team is in fact likely to be town.

This was done in response to the Focus wagon dying down and he didn't want to stick out so it makes sense

Beyond their entry in the game I never had anything substantial on them either way, and though I disliked the way they interpreted everything Varsoon did and said as suspicious, I did consider it possible that it was just confirmation bias.

X but y, always contradicting what he used to think in accordance to what the majority thinks. It happens so often that in just these two sentences he's done it four times

Then things started to happen. First there was what Seiko x Naomi said about how Titus plays as town in post #745, namely that Titus pushes her suspects hard and focuses on getting them lynched. This means that what misgivings I had were only about playstyle. It was particularly good that this meta came from someone else, though I find it extremely odd that Seiko x Naomi held this

against

Focus Beam. The way Focus Beam has pushed for Varsoon to be lynched sounds exactly like they described Titus as town.

I don't know what to make of this, but again with the similar contradiction

Then they reconsidered their Varsoon read based on what ProHawk said in post #787, which looked genuine enough for me. And then there is this:

How often do you see scum criticizing a vote on their counterwagon? I don't think I have. This may be a subtle thing, but I find those to be the hardest to fake, and trust them more for it.

I think I made it very obvious that while the Aeris defense was what made me initially think you were scum, it was the way you attacked and sought to discredit your attackers.

I checked, it was indeed the Salamence20 head and not Titus. And I don't think it can be called defending Aeris, since all they said was that they got a slight town read based on their entry post, before Aeris was under any real pressure and did not need to be defended. And when I think about it, I always felt that Focus Beam was fairly relaxed about being voted, with the notable exception of Varsoon.

Also, if anyone can find who said something about there being 2 kills even with more than 2 scum teams, can you quote it? I have a game starting soon, but I'm pretty sure whoever said that is scum. That's not what I saw before, but it is pretty damning.

The closest thing I can remember is Aeris talking about an offsite game in post #902.

I could go for either of them. Bulbazak too, since I have to agree that his case on Focus Beam is shoddy, or Seiko x Naomi, whose vote I can't even understand.

He didn't explain why he thought Mastina was scum. He "forgot" why he read her as town, and then "remembered" a game where she just so happened to be scum, but makes no note about how her play here relates to her play there. You see what I'm saying? Feysal can just later say "oh yeah, that game I was talking about? I just noticed the playstyles are not really that similar so mastina is town!" and that could work with some people because there is no explicit intention in his posts that would indicate fencesitting.

In my experience, you only ask for protection like that when you do t really need it. Town you is much more subtle about it.

And let's be frank. This is a really good player list and any and all of us have reason to fear being night killed, even the two or so scum teams, so I don't find that plea to be very genuine.
