We know that there's no graveyard, and that dead players can interact with the living. This doesn't discount using special abilities from the graveyard.

So what happens, when you kill a scum slot, and they can still help their partners from beyond the grave? What if they become inactive? Does the mod then have to replace a dead player? You see, there are many ways we are doing ourselves a major favor here with this lynch.

@Everyone "involved", I'd really like it if there could be a step back in the escalation here. Grounds have been marked out and positions established. His predecessor had no strategic reason to go all in on a widely townread player like Rylai, get frustrated, apologize, then replace out. He's town.

This is how dungeons work.

1. Players enter, flavor is rendered, and then a 'challenge' is presented.
2. The Master of the Hunt may choose to have his team endure the challenge or back out for the weak prize.
3. If the team endures the challenge, flavor is rendered, and then a 'boss' is presented.
4. The Master of the Hunt may choose to have his team fight the boss or back out for the weak prize.
5. If the team defeats the boss, flavor is rendered and the entire team gets the best prize possible AND the Master of the Hunt receives a bonus for a successful hunt.

This is what happened in the dungeon last night.

We went underground, Klingon went in first, a50 and Shinobi in the center, and us last. There were traps. Klingon decided to take the risks and go through the traps first.

Then we faced a burning beast creature that was fire-immune. He inflicted fire votes on Shinobi and Always50 because they were in the center of the lineup. He required 5 votes to defeat and none of us had weapons so Shinobi used the insight he got from lynching Bogre to use a bolt paper to down the beast. The rewards were close to nothing.

@Reasonably Irrational, regarding Shinobi, the move was promising and probably precludes him from being on my preferred lynch list for today, but there was a followup move that as far as I know didn't happen which stops that from clearing him as much as I might have liked.

We know from Varsoon's FAQ that there are plenty of mechanisms in the game that would prevent demanded use of insight from being a reliable scum hunting tool. I'm aware of this in particular because I was the one who asked the question. Shinobi might have had insight from the lynch that he spent. He might have had insight from another source that he spent or he might have the ability to produce the bolt prefix independent of bolt paper/whatever the scum variant is.

I'm watching his interactions at this point. They've gotten better than they had been when I chastised him day 1 (see the stretch of posts from 332 to 339, but he hasn't reached the pinnacle of shinning town in my eyes that he might strive for.

@Everyone who's astounded by Heuristic_Arrow's vote right now, don't worry about it. They're voting based on having read about 1/5 of the game. Let them finish and see where they end up. They also seem to be using a system that rewards lurkers and relies heavily on tone somewhat indiscriminately based on the reasoning they've provided, but again, that can all be sorted when they're caught up. For now it's worth letting them take the time to get into the game (as long as it's not much time) before jumping on them too hard.

I went and reviewed Nahdia's ISO around the Bogre lynch and yeah it's not so hot. A question though - what separates Nahdia's "wagon dismantling attempt" from Liger and Toog, who also stated similar things? You're townreading Liger so it doesn't make sense.

Everyone please be aware that someone purchased the Monocular. This gives them the ability to spy on. PTs. You can tell it's been purchased since it's crossed out.

It's also 8,000 Blood Echoes, and yesterday's lynch was only worth 6,000 which means either...

A) Someone started with a bank of Blood Echoes or gets extra echoes for slaying a player.
B) The person who shot Sensei was also on the Bogre wagon, and Sensei's value was enough to get him the 8k.
C) Sensei was worth 8k or more more Echoes.

It's almost assuredly in scum hands though.

Many of you are thinking of this game in the traditional sense. You're playing inside the paradigm of site meta, which dictates that claims of certain roles cannot possibly be scum.

I want you to think very carefully within yourself, what does post 4 tell us? What does Bogre's flip tell us? Why are some of your town roles negative utility? Why do you gain powers when town are lynched when you have a town win condition?

We can be sure that there are scum roles with pro-town utility. Give a town player blood echoes, and you will gain insight. Enchant a town player's weapon, and you will gain blood echoes. Strip your mind of black and white thinking and be more imaginative.

We don't scumhunt, and then someone claims a town utility, and then pack up and go home. That's not how it works in this game. Scummy players will get lynched regardless of their role. Believe me, it sucks to lose some bonuses, but are you sure you're not making a deal with the devil? Are you sure the player you're protecting isn't getting a better bargain than you?

We lead the charge, but we want every member of our town to keep these things in mind as we hunt for scum together.
