Doctorpepper, how do you scumhunt?
Because it seems to me that our reads shift in an almost diametrically opposite way and i'd like to know what are basing yourself on. Like, post #419 makes absolutely zero sense for me: half of the people are inactive, and you would punish those who are actually playing and trying to get the gamestate forward?
Please explain to me what you have been looking for in terms of scumtell in the active people, because i really do not understand your thought process here, but you never gave me scum vibes which means at least one of us is missing a piece

@dats: my assumption was that Skitter voted for CSF to go back to her first vote based on the draft order.
CSF feels empty as a slot.-

Okay farkran, I'll try to give you my thought process
I think voting for inactive players is lazy because it's where scum can pretend to look busy but not actually commit to anything. You can't possibly write off everyone active as town and just pretend to contribute by hitting slots that probably are inactive for non alignment reasons. Maybe they're busy. Maybe they can't catch up to 15 pages. But it's like, you could spend your energy engaging players who are playing rather than complain about those who aren't because it seems like you're looking busy but you're not interested in hunting scum.-

That's basically how I think I scumhunt, I generally do this as scum (low sample size so not very reliable) but I try not to rock the boat and go under the radar by posting things that aren't helpful but look like they are.
I also dislike what I think are flimsy reasons to scum read people but I do recognize that town can easily fall into this.
Like what's the motivation behind this, is it to genuinely hunt scum or to appear like you're contributing as town-

Was there anything particularly scummy about them or is it a "I'm gonna randomly choose an inactive and hope they play the game"
Because I literally scumread that's for that very reason-

pedit: lmao what
I just feel like town!datisi would actually engage in a slot that would give info, not one that could likely be replaced.
I mean in Chain of Command you didn't push QQ much on Day 1 and spent most of your pushes on me because you thought I was particularly scummy-

Ok, but do you scumhunt assuming that the only scum trick is trying to look busy? Do you think that scum cannot lurk? This is the second time you've been beating the same horse (178 was the first), and i dislike this double down a lot.In post 429, DoctorPepper wrote:Okay farkran, I'll try to give you my thought process

Probing that posibility via post 432. Initially though Skitter's thought process was Towny (Also because she's defending Aldus who I'm gut reading as town) but yeah, I find CSF votes weird afIn post 435, Datisi wrote:i never said i'm contributing to town

Scum can lurk, I do lurk as scum. But lurking in general is NAI. I mean some people just don't have the time to play or be as engaged as we are.
The point is, why waste your time on inactive slots. Are all 3 scum in the pool of 6 inactives? Why not expend the effort in finding hopefully 1 scum in the 8 other active slots?
Also my only recent towngame haven't played in 3 years and I doubt those games are accurate-

So you write off everyone, who is inactive as town instead and pretend to solve people, which already overflow with analyzable data.In post 429, DoctorPepper wrote:I think voting for inactive players is lazy because it's where scum can pretend to look busy but not actually commit to anything. No, that's a huge misrep and it's making me think you're scummy at for framing it that way.In post 443, Farkset wrote: So you write off everyone, who is inactive as town instead and pretend to solve people, which already overflow with analyzable data.

It's not "lol deep lurkers are auto town" it's more like the lurkers are gonna lurk and you're not gonna get anything from going to that direction. So why waste time there instead of engaging the active players. By your logic, surely we can't write all active people as town and just conclude that inactive people must be scum right?-

I still don't get the empty part though, if you read the posts i mentioned, Cat Fever seems to scumhunt exactly as you. Even though he has less content, i don't think you would call his slot empty?
I dunno. What's your read on alduskkel?
