Thought skitter's point re: "what do we do if there was more scum in this thread as opposed to that one?" was interesting.

My thoughts wrt to it are twofold. For one, I expect the situation to be fluid - if end of day I want to strangle everyone around me and the dark timeline is holding hands and singing kumbaya then it's fine to call an audible, I just figure it's more likely to succeed if we arbitrarily decide a default. Secondly, maybe the plan doesn't do work! Still OK, I disagree firmly with unwnd that there's a strong mechanical penalty for shunting scum to a different timeline and believe that even if there was a penalty we'd gain some ground in increased accountability.

Oh also we agree that midwaybear is town over there, mostly because he made the same mistake both of us made. i was looking at distribution of the players before the game and was trying to figure out who was likely to stick themselves in which spot, and then asked cakez before I went to out there. Then shortly before we went in lockdown, Nacho was telling me about his brian town read due to distribution of players, which fizzled when I cleared him up that the town were distributed after scum chose themselves.

So yeah obtuse bear is probably just town there.

He's doing his code talking thing and I think I understand part of it, but in FGO I felt a little better about Cabd by this point but I also had you trusting him really early which also helped with that read, paranoid of early-mid day one aside. He feels similarish in the vein of he's positioning himself as a matter of importance in something central in the game, but I don't have the same warm fuzzies that I was getting in FGO even early on. I think as scum he would definitely be looking to integrate himself with the town, and I haven't seen anything that suggests actual town vs. integration?

The air here is a bit more thick I agree with you. Do you think the thread being slower here is telling of the narrative that more scum are over there? Or does scum simply have nothing to do here.

Think that idea is a bit too big brain for me at the moment. My first thought was 3-3 simply because they didnt know which town would be in which stream, so I don’t think they’d be all blind nil about it. Our thread could be slower because of playstyle reasons than less scum. I’d think if you were going by that logic then this side would be faster with more town posting.

I imagine if Muffin were scum this game he would approach it differently and focus more on making an impression/impact. However, since it is still early, there are still a ton of different paths that he can take and still have a path to victory, thus making that thought wildly unimportant.

I don't think he's out of his scum range and I didn't expect him to be out of his scum range. I don't think any of the positions he's taken are suspiciously advantageous for scum and I don't think any of his thought processes come across as faked.

What is your current take on Noraa? I'm looking through death curse, and there she was very omgussy but it was very mannered, and notscience is right meek. Now I'm not doing a full meta read just trying to get a baseline so if I'm missing something tell me, but her xeno was kinda snarky with the "hotshot" scum hunter it didn't turn full on omgus like it is here, and her emotion and potshots at notscience are way and above what she was doing in xeno. Superbowl - You're scum reading a play style that you don't like. Calling yourself town all the time, insisting you're obtown isn't scummy it's just off-putting to people who don't like it. Play that you think is terrible isn't necessarily scum. Our job is to find scum not yeet people whose play style we find objectionable. Tammy may or may not be easy to read, as I'm not familiar with her playstyle. I think we may have played together once before a long time ago (if memory serves it was the Imperium hydra in a game I was scum in with N_M and tw, and it featured Mathdino and mastina), and I -of course- didn't even have to read her (because I was SCUM) so... *Shrug*

I also trust skitter's reads to a fair extent and I think she's town this game, so that gave me more confidence

We did play together at least once when I was in this hydra, and I think that's the only time, but I think that was in a game when majiffy was scum? That's my memory; it was a mini-theme game at least. I don't remember any other time, but nacho says he's played with you. I remember you as being somewhat awkward-ish just in some things you responded to but also able to talk about the the game.

I don't know skitter at all though.

I don't put much stock in people's cases on other people; i'm always going to have my own read, well mostly. The case tells me what I think about the case-maker, and I think town on you.

The Noraa read is one where I'd ask that you just trust me - I know that we don't talk and we don't play together at the same rate we used to but I hope you still understand that this isn't something that I ask lightly or do intentionally. The basis of my read is still the night and day of her play here and her play in Xenoblade - I understand there's a lack of substance but these are those Sakura Hana level of indignation when she tells notscience that he's using my townreads against her. I again know that last game wasn't a shining example of Nacho but if I'm wrong on this read I've truly lost everything I've built up over the years.

So your first characterization of scum!Bell is that he doesn't put in the effort and he's immediately defeatist. Lack of effort doesn't seem to apply. He's currently outpacing you in posting now, and it's fair to say that he's defeatist when he hasn't given up on the push on you yet. His posting isn't dense, but I didn't expect it to be based on my experience with him so far, and he is pretty one-track minded but it's too early for me to be crazy worried about that yet.

I understand your point here for sure - it's part of the reason that I'm townreading Bell here. His town preference leads to a bit of swagger when he rolls town - confidence that he is town and should be identified as such. If you control + F "town" in his ISO in Smoke-Filled Antechamber, for example, you'll see him ask to be "town block buddies with ffery" (which he later backed down from by saying that "town block buddies" means "friendlier than usual"), and you'll see him tell one person their read is wrong. Here, if you go through the same exercise, he talks a couple of times how he's contributing by being blatantly town, posts that he's town before he goes to bed, talks about how happy he is that he's town and describes the smile on his face when he's town.

So I understand why you made this point on Bell here, but when new information came into play your read didn't evolve. Why? Am I misinterpreting the tell that you're talking about here?

I didn't like this response - to me, this is a potshot. I liked Bell waffling on his case on you a bit - felt genuine to me and seems strange for Bell at this point to suddenly decide to weaken his position on you by expressing that vulnerability when everyone was townreading him and ignoring him already and you weren't in danger of being lynched (no risk of accountability, everyone still townreading him).
