I think his point is that it's not so much a 1v1 in that VPB is pushing Prism and Prism is pushing VPB as it is that there is a group of people pushing Prism!scum (Mainly Me/Dwlee) and a group of people pushing VPB!scum (Mainly FireisRedSir)
By setting it up as a dichotomy - he is trying to create an either/or situation - either Prism is scum or VPB is scum because they think each other are scum.
However this is not really how the day evolved - what actually happened is that people wanted to kill VPB/Prism for being scummy independently of each other.
The reason setting up a 1v1 is scum!indicative when it's actually 2 independent wagons - is that it is trying to downplay the possibility of a Prism - Baltar scum team and actually trying to create a dichotomy where if one of them goes through - the other has room to maneuever later on.
if you look at how VPB/Prism voted each other - it was as far as i remember on the same page and it looked very strange because niether of them really were into voting the other before it happened - it didn't look like something organic.

Concurring on 1595. If you think it's me/fire I assure you I would be blasting him for fencesitting so hard in the scum PT, and he's coachable enough to listen
actually addendum i agree with ari's post until she reaches the conclusion. i think its scummy for vp even if prism isn't a partner, bc in the specific appeal to her in 1501 it looks like he is clumsily trying to imply that it is TvT which just doesn't really make any sense given his read progression up to that point
