It's true that if it turns out scum gave Cpol the potato then my current narrative doesn't fit so well. Not sure what to make of things if that is the case... will see if necessary first. I find it really hard to see Menno as not scum.

I think Nexus is scummy for myko scumreading him and myko being killed but that's light atm.

This does not seem like someone who is scum coming into a new day after performing an extremely questionable execution to me.

I also agree with others that have said that the self-vote in post 188 also feels like someone simply giving up on the game given the position they are in.
The claim of VT is fine, but the ‘flavour’ also seems to fit, so I like that as well. The VT claim also fits in with the self-voting play.
Not that I could right now I appreciate, but I would now NOT be hammering if I had the chance to.

This is the post I like the least in the last couple of pages. It feels like momentum is moving away from Meno, and this is a not-so-subtle nudge to get it back on track.

@CES - you said that Meno's hammer was damning. So to confirm, you think they are definitely scum? If we execute them and they do come up as scum, who would you want to execute the following day? If they did not come up as scum, where would you be looking instead?

I disagree. I still think Menno is most likely scum, and I think their play today fits completely with what scum do in that situation. Mostly low effort, self voting minimises interactions and shortens the Day.

My read on CES is still neutral, he could be scum but his call for a hammer doesn’t mean anything, he does that as town or scum. And I think it’s reasonable to be concerned about losing momentum on Menno. But I’d like him to answer my question about the potato issue.

Mennoscum could easily make one decision and then the scum group could decide on a different course of action during the Night. They may even have been zooted at the time of the execution as they claimed and then realized overnight they were never getting away with it without some sort of distraction.

To be clear, I said their lack of explanation was damning. I've seen plenty of quickhammers in my day and I've never seen so little attempt at justification or mea culpa; if Menno is town, how is there no inkling of pro-town thinking behind it that could be expounded upon or if not that, some sense of guilt? Especially in combination with your situation, this feels like a deliberate move; they have nothing good to say, so they say nothing and hope the town overthinks it/gets distracted by other things.

I've never liked this question. It's a distraction. Have you ever done like a crossword (or other word puzzle) where you're given a letter in a word and you immediately get it, even though you had previously considered that very same possibility?

I'm not sure I follow this. Do you mean if I had given the potato back then you would have gotten a read on me? Since I didn't do that, are you unable to form a read?

And that still doesn't really answer the point of the question. At the time, did you want Cpol to be executed, and if so, why did you want me to give the potato back?
