I told him to visit Val yesterday so I could clear him.

Watchers here can only see town roles because mafias are ninjas so he would be conf town and free of suspicion. I explained this plan to him after his attempted rebuttal and he didn't respond so I assumed that was tacit agreement. I think him saying he won't visit is mafia attempting to weasel out of this.
