I do think this is a fair concern but I will say that while I do get very immersed in what I believe in games pretty often, I get equally thrown out of this immersion when I'm proven wrong. It used to be a bad habit of mine that late into a day, I'd start getting really doubtful, throw all my reads out of the window and start anew. I don't 180 on my reads quite as easily as before but flips proving me wrong do set off that reaction.
If anything, I want something to move me from my anchor and to incite me to reconsider things, because these most recent days, my brain's been glossing over posts more and more and nothing much has progressed in my head, which is an issue. I've been coming back to this game with like 2 whole pages to read and I forget all of it immediately. This is also part of why I dislike limming outside of you and Hellbooks so much, I know there's been relevant stuff to read other players off of recently, but it's not really been absorbing in my brain and my limited scope feels like it'll put a damper on my worldview long-term, so I want what I'm set on to be resolved. Without that, I think my use in finding scum is pretty limited. This means I'll put a damper on our ability to get rid of maf, but it also means that I'll have less meaningful content for people to read me off of and I won't even be able to show that I'm town, which is the least I could do.

Ok i went back to read that interaction again and my view on it hasn't changed. I don't think baltar's wallpost was terrible but I think saying it's "objective and not opinionated" is like, not really accurate at all. That isn't even a criticism of baltar's post - Baltar can be like right about the scumteam, and right in his reasoning for it too, and that would still not be a super objective and not opinionated post. It was a post pushing the prior opinions baltar had about other people being reasonable. I think the interaction of saying "baltar and fire is ?v?, idk about baltar" saying "oh baltar's wallpost may be towny but i could be convinced otherwise" is a p soft defense and osuka using it to demand he gets townread is just ??? to me. i think scum defend townies who are being wagoned, like... really really regularly, even if the scum player is being scumread by some people. this makes sense because if scum always just jumped on the opportune wagon it'd be transparent. In general when i'm reading baltar's posts about fire i think i can believe he believes it more than i can say the same about osuka, isoing him.

i did do a somewhat soft defense but the question stands: why would i defend at all if i were scum? what really gets to me in this post is "demanding to be townread" - i'm not demanding anything, i'm not _trying_ to be townread, and i'm not even saying anyone should townread me. i'm saying only, and very clearly, that none of you, yourself included, can evidently read me at all.

defending baltar in that situation is the wrong thing to do if i'm scum and it's not something i wouldve done if i had a red role pm, unless he was teamed with me
