I like my bagels with cream cheese or with egg and bacon

Cream cheese and either salmon or jam depending on whether I'm more in the mood for savory or sweet.
But bagels also make excellent breakfast sandwiches, in which case eggs and some sort of pork product are usually the way to go.

Bagels aren’t all that normal here, but i think i tried it in a cafe with cream cheese and salmon and it was pretty good.

My Tim's order is an everything bagel double-toasted with plain cream cheese and bacon. At home I usually go for a sesame bagel with peanut butter and a few slices of cheddar to dip in the especially melty parts. Always crispy; untoasted bagels are trash.
mine is an everything babel with 'erb'n'garlic cream cheese, toasted of course

If your bagel needs to be toasted to taste good, I have bad news about your bagels.
They suck.
toasted bagels make it easier to put cream cheese on, imagine tryna put peanut butter on an soggy, untoasted piece of bread
You people make me sick. A bagel consists of a type of toric bread, often with spread (usually butter). This entire thread consists of "sandwiches". Almost every "bagel I see on here has other items added to it.

Legitimately if you have to toast a bagel to make it good you are not eating a good bagel. It's ok to like them that way, but toasting a fresh bagel made by someone who knows what they're doing is kinda like ordering an aged steak and then dousing it with ketchup. :/

I mean, sure, if you have an oven-warm bagel from a proper bakery that knows their stuff then there's no need to toast it, but if you live in the approximately 98% of the US alone where that just isn't something you're going to get then doing the best you can with those circlebread imposters is a totally reasonable lifestyle choice.

Which is way better than the average cream cheese to be fair.

I come here to spread the bagel gospel- Tilly's are amazing, amazing bagels. They used to sell via south loop farmers market, but apparently they're getting a brick and mortar some time this summer. Sharing this is probably the most important thing I'll do this year
