Because if you're town with known stances then your flip is actually meaningful due to us having a confirmed reference of town with specific reads. In such a world, town is misled. You'd relieve the fallout of people falling into their biases with more information.

Personally, in that reality, I would not know what you thought and therefore no insight you had of value in this game could help me solve it.

Near the beginning of the game you were asked why you had claimed, and you immediately responded that you thought it had made you clear. Doesn't seem like a joke to me, really. Instead it seems to me that you are now flailing after two people claimed gun after you did.

You claimed night 2 gun so mafia kill you night 2. That does not make sense to me because if mafia waited until night 2, you would be able to shoot somebody; so they'd go for you on night 1. Your logic doesn't hold here which indicates to me that you did not really think this through.
