Are we really just all playing clueless about incognito? First Gimli pushing HPE for giving him incognito and now... whatever this is? If you literally just read up on what it is you should know it's obvious that Gimli had incognito since game start and therefore his name will be revealed day 2. What other way of obscuring his name would exist?

I have no reason to worry about people's names in the game. I'm not follower or Kira. So I just ignore it like any other flavor

My thoughts on the red herring signaling thing are like... It's a delicate balance, it's SUPER delicate. Both the Assistant and Followers will want to signal who they are to the Detective and Kira respectively but when scum has to correctly signal to and identify each other to be cohesive, town is going to be on high alert for that, and likewise with Detective/Assistant and scum. This one would like to think it can do better to signal to Kira "hey im a follower!! yahoo!!" than latching onto Gimli, especially if Gimli were my Kira. The main benefit to Kira-Follower identification is both not wasting Kira's time with failed kills, and more importantly: Shinigami Eyes. Last time we condemned a Follower D1 and detective died and we had to scramble to find Kira but in the long haul of a full 5 days, Followers do NOT want to stick their necks out, because it means less chances of successful identification of the Detective, and less time to prove yourself to Kira. If Kira has both Followers figured out and one blurts out "Hey [Player]'s visible name is fake, it's [Name]" then that's gg unless we catch Kira the next day. This isn't actually very relevant to anything right now other than "we should probably look harder for non-surface level signaling" and guys PLEASE ME TRUST ME ITS NOT SIGNALING THIS ONE WAS JUST FUCKING AROUND WITH GIMLI

Incognito obscures your visible name until the start of D2. It's basically a Doc unless Kira wastes Assassinate on you.

Not exactly decisive proof of evidence but you cannot deny that there was intent to buddy up with Gimli and this isn't some bullshit Follower rebound of "well i was always trying to help out gimli!!! i promise!!! its not my fault this came completely out of left field!!!"

These are literally worlds apart. Incognito, technically, does not say anything about my role. Fucking Kira rolled "I Am Not Kira!" last game. Skill claims are alot different from role claims my guy.

Skills are literally PRs. Some are more powerful than others, and as such higher or lower priority for kills.

Kira and Followers would ideally want to hit more valuable skills first, just as Mafia in a regular game do. While this game is different in that finding Detective would trump any individual skills, until the Detective is identified, people slipping or claiming skills is going to influence kills.

By claiming Incognito before it was necessary to do so, you've narrowed that pool, just as would happen if you prematurely claimed vanilla in a normal.

Some skills are better than others, that's true, but remember that:

• We only get 10 skills total.
  
• Kira knows which ones aren't in play, which means he knows which ARE.
  
• 3 of those 10 will be on the scumteam.
  
• And only a handful are
  particularly
  useful, but there's good odds we're missing several by way of being the outlier 5, or on scum.

So if you think "Well gee Erinys, now you've really done it! We could lose a useful skill by Kira targeting people other than you!", then you should consider how unlikely it is that of the 6 most useful skills (Access To Files, Clingy, Go To Jail, Autopsy (highly debatable), Check and Calling For Time (also debatable)), town realistically only has access to like... 3? And both Autopsy and Calling For Time can be used against town. Same with Clingy, actually.

Skills are alot more volatile and alot less reliable than you think. And also the obvious: If we just make me conftown and this one pops off and etc etc then Kira is forced to acknowledge me and get me killed as opposed to someone else. Smiles so sweetly and innocently.
