Was thinking about that. I imagine it's a mechanism for the corner case of 2 vs 2 with chosen one still alive.

Yes. If 2:2 occurs with the chosen one still alive, both town players decide who is vanilla and lynch 'em to win.

curiosity and i was wondering if scum lost should chosen one survive to end game. if they do loose perhaps we could find the chosen one and keep them alive the entire game and win or find some other way to use a strategy like that to towns advantage

The problem here is the chosen one doesn't know he's the chosen one so it's not really a game breaking strategy.

Good strategy, but the chosen one isn't told who they are, so.... going to be a crapshoot I think.
