Alright, here's how this game can play out. We all have 2 wishes. We can use them in the same Night phase. We all use our wishes on Night 1 to Cop the person above and below us on the player list. This will result in an instant town victory. Backfired Cop results will provide an innocent result on the player they were used on, and using both of our wishes on two different people removes any possible outliers of the scum being able to hide, unless all three of them are in a row on the player list, which would just be silly.
So, here's the Night 1 plan:
-L- Cops Vifam and adorkable
adorkable Cops -L- and Balrog
Balrog Cops adorkable and Benmage
Benmage Cops Balrog and captaineddie
captaineddie Cops Benmage and Human Destroyer
Human Destroyer Cops captaineddie and kiwieagle
kiwieagle Cops Human Destroyer and Klick
Klick Cops kiwieagle and MrZephyr
MrZephyr Cops Klick and PeregrineV
PeregrineV Cops MrZephyr and Sanjay
Sanjay Cops PeregrineV and Seanald
Seanald Cops Sanjay and Vifam
Vifam Cops Seanald and -L-.
This is effectively playing the game in a fashion similar to Texas Justice Mafia, where everyone Vigs the person below them, resulting in about a 70% chance that the town will win. However, our chances increase substantially because we're not Vigging everyone and everyone will get an opportunity to post their results. It shouldn't be hard to discern whose wishes backfired based on who was Nightkilled, so we effectively have the game won by Day 2.
Alternatively, we could all use one wish to Cop the person below us and then take turns reviving dead townies, but that just seems lame and inefficient, especially since we'd have to coordinate who's wishing so as to make it effective (thus using 3 wishes a Night just to revive one person) and we could really only revive 3 townies that way, anyway. It just seems like a poor use of resources.
Any takers on this game-winning plan? Or would you guys prefer to play it in a manner that doesn't allow us to win instantly? I'd have suggested a mass Vigging but that just seems silly, given that we will literally end the game on Night 1 (unless, again, the scum are all in a row on the player list) with everyone dead.
There's no sense in lynching toDay if we opt to go with this plan, as it decreases our resources.-

Anyway, I've had my opening-game spamfest fun. I have to be up for work in 3 hours, so I'm gonna sleep. I'll check up on you kids later. Before I go:
VOTE: Vifam, as I sense absolutely nothing he posts will be of any value for the remainder of the game if he's town and he's pretty much declared himself scum twice as it is anyway.-

Yeah, I asked that after you mentioned the Cult thing. Not impressed.
I like the commitment you show here by not actually voting your scumspect.

I don't see the point in playing the game if it's not going to be any fun. Defeats the point of this being a Mafia game.
It's not vote worthy imo, I was just pointing out that I didn't like his posting. Plus spamming us to page 5 before I could even start reading the game makes me less inclined to like you.
Sorry, not sorry.

I don't watch the show all the time, but isn't some teacher always after the fairies? I can imagine scum gaining something from picking off specific characters.
Teacher =/= Kid
You keep rubbing me the wrong way. Any particular reason why you're choosing to act like this?
In post 179, Benmage wrote:In post 177, Sanjay wrote:Also, I got a sort of "testing the waters, do I dare to jump in?" vibe from this post.
I'm a little torn to be fair. But would scum really attempt to call out an obviously protown plan, and a protown player? Doubtful in my opinion. I think they'd be more like "oh shit oh shit oh shit" Than actually call Bal out.
I disagree, I think Zepher felt some anti-Balrog emotions in the pool and decided to stick his toe in the water.

I guess the best question to ask is
@NumQ- How much coordination are we allowed to have/use?
I never said you couldn't coordinate. It's the game breaking I don't like.
2.

This quote, knowing that the Anti-Fairies are the scum, makes me feel that Peregrine isn't one of them.
I think this is all null.

Oh yeah. I actually never got to play on MTGS. I signed up because a group came from the WOTC boards, but there wasn't enough room in the game PK set up. I tried to replace into other games, but was too slow. Since it was becoming another forum to check, I just stuck with the two I already have.
Ah. I remembered seeing your name, I just didn't recall if you actually played and I didn't see you in the player list in Emo_Pinata's game, which is the one I thought you had played in.

Groups of three players that can investigate each other tonight. We are allowed to organize, so having groups of three allows for pretty good coverage yet reduces the gamebreakiness of the first plan.
I would rather you choose the groups, since you are my strongest townread.
I thought we weren't going to do that.-

From there the thread went at the speed of light with all the chatter.
Sounds like an excuse to active lurk to me.

I think Benmage is more likely busing here rather than going for a mislynch, but this is a 100% genuine ungenuine post we have here. Benmage is mafia.
Did you consider that Benmage could be playing differently here because, I dunno, maybe...he was the Doctor in that game?-

He is intimately acquainted with -L-'s replacing out as town under pressure.
Yet, when he sees -L- replacing out as town here, he's like "yup, there's your scum".
Has -L- replaced out as scum before? I'm not seeing enough data to come to the same conclusion you are. His being a Doctor can drastically affect the way he played that game, versus this game where everyone knows what everyone else is. We don't have to play close to the chest because we're in a uniform open setup.
I also think you're putting too much weight on your meta arguments.-

@kiwi: Then vote me. I don't ever recall stating that I was confused, only that I was not always capable of discerning awful town from scum. As the quality of his posting has not improved since then, I can only presume that this is how he always plays. What exactly was so terrible about my reason for voting him initially?
@L: I can't quote when I'm phone posting but rest assured that I will deconstruct your last post sufficiently.-

Let's discuss Night strategy.
Obviously it's a bad idea to wish for any kills because if those backfire, we die instead. I fully expect to get backfired toNight since I am all but confirmed at this point and I will be wishing accordingly.
As fun as the idea is, changing alignments is probably a bad idea because Q said he wouldn't tell me what happens if you wish to become a Neutral and you get backfired.
Copping and Doccing people seems okay still, since that backfired would result in an incorrect result or a Vig shot. We could also revive dead townies.
I wonder what would happen if we all wished to be Bulletproof.-
