Getting food was the easy part. Between them, there had been enough cash to buy sandwiches for everyone and a few bottled drinks. Because of the power failure, however, they could not purchase any coffee, and they could not go back without the coffee; someone had to go to the coffee shop across the street to get the rest of their drinks. No one volunteered to go. With hands full and lights out, drawing straws was out of the question as was rock-paper-scissors. In the end, the group decided to go with a majority vote. After some minutes of arguing over who looked the most like they were responsible for this mess, the odious task of getting the coffee landed on Keybladewielder.

Outside, the city was teeming with life as if nothing were wrong at all. Keybladewielder crossed the street and gave his order to the barista. As he waited for the drinks, he slipped his hand into his pocket to take his phone, only to find it empty. He patted himself down, and then he remembered that he had left it on the counter back at the hotel deli. Damn it! He grabbed the drinks and rushed back to the hotel, where he was met with closed doors. He tried pushing against them, but they would not budge. When had the doors been locked? Where was security, anyway? Keybladewielder sighed. The only thing left to do now was to wait for the power to return. At least he'd locked his phone.

When Hyperion made his way to the deli, the power was still out, and Keybladewielder had yet to respond to any of his text messages. The food expedition had returned with everyone's sandwiches and soft drinks but no coffee; after an hour passed with no sign of Keybladewielder, Hyperion had volunteered to look for him. Where else could he have gone, though? The deli was deserted. A flash of light caught his eye, and he approached the counter. There, he found Keybladewielder's phone, its notification light blinking. That explained Keybladewielder's silence, at least. Hyperion took the phone and headed for the lobby.

To his surprise, the lobby was empty, even the receptionist's desk. The doors were automatic, but they were propped open for the moment. Keybladewielder was likely outside; at least, that was what they had told him before he left, that Keybladewielder had gone to the coffee shop across the street. There was no reason for Keybladewielder to loiter in the hotel. Hyperion squeezed through the opening between the doors. He turned back for a moment to regain his balance, and he saw someone kick the block that had been holding the doors apart. The doors snapped shut.
