Dearest TheIrishPope

Your play advocates a(n)

( ) insightful ( ) interesting ( ) uncommon (X) crazy

approach to finding scum. Your idea will not work. Here is why it won't work. (One or more of the following may apply to your particular idea, and it may have other flaws which used to vary from meta to meta.)

( ) Scum can use it as a blank check to hide.
(X) It is just as likely to get false positives.
( ) It violates the mod’s rules.
( ) It will get townies killed
(X) It requires scum to be stupid
( ) It does not account for the closed nature of the setup
( ) Your solution speculates at the setup
(X) The townbloc won’t put up with it
( ) Requires too much cooperation from scum
( ) Requires immediate total cooperation from everybody at once
( ) The town cannot afford the risk.
(X) Scum will see it coming ten miles away
( ) Anyone could fake the result they want

Specifically, your plan fails to account for

( ) Rules expressly prohibiting it
(X) Lack of confirmed townies
( ) Timezones
( ) Ease of planning a response in advance assuming scum daychat
(X) Asshats
(X) Nobody trusts you
( ) Unpopularity of new gambits
(X) The existence of already successful scumhunting tactics
( ) Susceptibility of newbtown to fall for it as well
(X) Willingness of players to give you a chance
(X) People who hate your play
(X) Scum can make strong cases too
( ) Scum safeclaims given by mod
and the following philosophical objections may also apply:

( ) Ideas similar to yours are easy to come up with, yet none have ever
been shown practical
( ) Any scheme based on opt-out is unacceptable
( ) Flavor Gambits suck
(X) Why should we have to trust you and your methods?
(X) Incompatibility with the current player base
(X) Feel-good measures do nothing to solve the problem
( ) Revealing info does nothing but assist scum
( ) Killing them that way is not slow and painful enough

Furthermore, this is what I think about you:

(X) Sorry dude, but I don't think it would work.
( ) This is a stupid idea, and you're a stupid person for suggesting it.
( ) Nice try, asshole! I'm going to find out where you live and burn your
house down!

The point I'm making is, don't be so hasty as to give scum a win on a silver platter, like you did to me. I just chose a dorky checklist to make it.

You're wagon hoping so fast I'm pretty sure the CHP wants to write you a ticket for not coming to a complete stop first.

You have picked up some town reads, and some players have even gone to bat for you. That does not equate to confirmed town.

Calcifer has given me the scum shivers since I replaced in, but these most recent posts have sealed the deal:

TMT is trying to get calcifer to do his dirty work and defend his buddy.
If this game turns out to be multiscum, we're speed-lynching Zdenek.
There's this little fake out about multiscum vs. singlescum, followed by sowing the seeds of a witch-hunt on a townie based on a multiscum theory (urgh what? you're right, it makes no sense whatsoever = scum). Either the game is singlescum and this is safe distancing (I doubt it) or Calcifer knows the game is multiscum and wants a stupid reason to go after a townie.
In post 1302, Calcifer wrote:So, Nacho recommended me not bothering to read the whole thread and to just get the gist of the happenings right now.

orcinus might be scum (or not, now that I know it's him, but worth looking into further). Ankamius looks like scum to me, too.
Granted, both of these are partially reliant on BulbaFenix being scum. Though I certainly sorta lean that way, it's far from solid, regrettably.

Stubbs looks town, too.
Granted, still need 52 and 53, and this is weak-as-hell, but it's where I stand. :P
I mean - look at the above post, it's nothing but relativist scumtells. So-and-so MAY BE scum, but only if that-other-one is town, but partially leaning on Bozo-the-clown being SK.

That's top notch scum yakshit.

Nero is scum. He is not posting walls to harass us to lynch 7 townies in a row. He is tunneling on just one player, and hasn't yet produced a fake guilty on that player. He is insincere and therefore scum.

The bowl of Alpha-Bits player is also scum but we all know that, there is however a curse on voting him that might lead to the earth being sucked into a wormhole straight into another dimension.

The amount of insults proffered by Nero are ordained by a simple mathematical formula involving your total number of posts, your average number of words per post, the total times you address him directly or completely ignore him, and how many posts have been made by others between your most recent post, and his.

He is like the tides.

One cannot be offended by tides.

I must reiterate that even a predictable phenomena such as a Nero insult tide can receive a scum role PM, which is the case in this instance.
