*crickets*
International in a week. Have a show every day that week but it's fine I just won't sleep.
I have all day free Monday if anyone is interested in learning Dota 2 before the international to get a basic grasp of what's happening or what have you.
The Story So Far
International 2011
The International 2011 was the world's first introduction to Dota 2, and what better way to introduce it then run a $1,000,000 tournament? The important thing to know here is that the winner was the Ukrainian team Natus Vincere (AKA, Na'Vi), defeating E-Home in the championship. After this match most teams disbanded and traded around, and Na'Vi became the popular crowd favorite, not only because of good results, but because of their risky and unique playstyle, opting to pick Pudge in one game when nobody else would. Artstyle was their captain, but the true star was Dendi, whose fantastic mid play was entertaining to watch due to his ability and often playing unconventional heroes.
Spoiler: 2011 Winners!
Many small tourneys took place before finally the 2012 International came around. Everyone talked about how powerful the Asian teams were, and how the West would get dominated at TI2. And that's exactly what happened. The two top Eastern teams, LGD and IG, went 14-0 and 13-1 respectively in the group stages. During the tournament, the West was quickly shown how powerful Naga Siren, a recently released hero in Dota 2, could be. Na'Vi did poorly early on, ending first round of group stages with a negative record, but eventually ending up 8-6 and in the winner's bracket. Na'Vi managed to win in the winner's bracket, even against the seemingly unstoppable Eastern teams. Notably, during IG who were agreed to be the team to beat, Na'Vi let IG pick the seemingly unstoppable Naga Siren and claimed to have a counter. That's when the the most memorable team fight in dota 2 history occurred. After defeating IG, IG went to the losers bracket, beat LGD, and was sent back to face Na'Vi in the finals. After losing 2 games and only winning one, Na'Vi needed to do something drastic. After 2011, Artstyle left Na'Vi and Puppey took over as captain. Puppey was known for being an exceptional drafter and captain, and had shown so during TI2. Game 4 Na'Vi makes a pick that shocks everyone: Nyx Assasin. At the time of the event, Nyx was a joke hero, never picked due to being seemingly underpowered. The theory all made sense behind the pick, they just had to play their cards correctly and it'd pay off. Unfortunately, the gamble didn't pay off and Na'Vi lost; IG were the winners of TI2.
Spoiler: 2012 Winners
International 2013: The Teams
Finishing this later.@thesupertriomusical on Instagram, come see it if you’re in LA area, I wrote it!-

You can justify nearly ever item on windrunner. Actually, no, literally every item is justifiable at some point in some game.In post 459, Saki wrote:I need someone to teach me what to build on windrunner/luna
For luna you either want to go treads/phase->drums->bkb for early fighting and stuff or midas->boots->HotD for farming (either way, make sure supports or your HotD minion stack ancients to farm it later). If game goes late you want a manta and usually a butterfly (also a bkb if you went the farming build).sa vrede?-

I am no pro but i play decent with Wind runner, What I learnt about Wind runner is that she is one of the really best herores for lane pushes and for easy tower takes, a level 15 Wind ranger 8 seconds ulti can take almost half the tower life and that's not all about her, She plays very vital role in team battles, Her rope can tie two heroes at the same time which gives a great advantage for rest of your team to damanage them enough. And the long shoot arrow is an advantage to take low health heroes down from distance, and shooting arrow into forest will give you quick view if there is any enemy hero hiding to give, its a great advantage. Finally, the best part of playing windrunner is her running skills, she is born agiility hero, so you wont need boots for her for a while and with that speed, she is almost hard to catch by enemy heroes. She is one of the heroes that enemy heroes don't wish to chase
and if you really looking for items build... I would say it depends on situation. I always choose my items on my condition, if i am doing good, i ll go for heavy builds otherwise i try to get the basic so i can defend well.
Steam has large amount of various guides listed by pro's, GO and explore and see the various options and choice.. Like said, build items as it comforts to your play. Building item is not everything, but using successfully what it matters the most, I see a lot of players buid mechanism but they don't use it in the right time, or they uses it wrongly. so It doesn't matter what you build but if you know use of it and know when to use it. any sort of items build would benefit that player.

Oh wow, I like new players ha ha, just joking. In post 462, Saki wrote:@Staeg/AA9

Few important things you must remember... First practice your hero against bots to learn their abilites so that you wont make mistakes in the game. becuz understanding how to use a power is more important than waiting to see what happens if you uses it becuz your enemy heroes wont give you that chance, besides the more you die the powerful they become.
There is an excellent article for starter players of DOTA2 by pro player.. i want you to give sometime and read through this. BELIEVE ME, THIS WOULD HELP AND YOU WOULD FEEL NICE.
http://www.dotafire.com/dota-2/guide/le ... -to-dota-8
And my quick suggestions are..
1) Don't ever play a carry hero if it is first time with them, feeding carry can ruin the game
2) Stick with towers at early of game until you're confident enough to jump in
3) Prefer support or lane pushers, becuz they are easy to learn. Don't ever pick, Invoker, Chen, kind of supports. They are intelli players and learning them takes forever.
4) Don't hook yourself playing Riki & Drow, they seem to be okay at the beginning but they will screw your playstyle, becuz once after your level 11, the matchmacking will put you in complicated games and those games are not a place for riki & Drow. So, it is good that you learn other players. Often try random too!!
5) Build items as needed and remember to use them otherwise there wont be any use
6) Don't be jumpy to initiate battles, even 1 vs1, always know your enemy powers if you're going 1vs1 also. example: if you chase down a enemy hero who has shadow blade, your effort will be worthless... so plan it accordingly
7) Prefer Observant Wards, check online for the best Observant positions to place, becuz most the player buys them and places them in a most fucked up place which come in no use.
8) last but not least....dont ever stick to one lane.its good to play in all sides of lanes (mid, top & bottom) this way you would experience in playing all over the map.
Have fun, will see sometime in a gameInatimeofancientgods,warlordsandkings,alandinturmoilcriedoutforahero.ShewasXena,amightyprincessforgedintheheatofbattle.Thepower,thepassion,thedanger.Hercouragewillchangetheworld-Xena Warrior Princess, Coming Soon!!-

I've dominated with offlane solo skeleton king before, but then my team abandoned and shit.
You can play almost any hero in offlane so long as you have good map movements.Fluffy fluffy~~~ |"READING KATSUKI IS LIKE SOME SORT OF POSTMODERN ARTFORM"- GreyICE

All range heroes. Yap. Not every melee heroes can offlane as starter, except pull neutral creeps, if your enemies don't disturb you also.In post 467, Katsuki wrote:You can play almost any hero in offlane so long as you have good map movements.
Sometimes in public game as support, I like to play KotL in hard lane. That's very funny when you take their creeps with one shot.
(Still need sight to shoot at correct time, ward provide it (not for disable neutral creep to spawn))-
