It very well could be. With Trevor, the fact that he was clearly watching the bottom card made it pretty definitive, but without being able to see his head I really can't say for sure. The only times, where he's shuffling zoomed out, it looks like he's looking away, but he could be like, looking out fo the corner of his eye idk.
You could also see him periodically moving cards to the front. His case was a no brainer. This one -could- be cheating. I'd suggest the guy clean up his shuffling habits, but I wouldn't be willing to condemn him for it. Thats all I can say.
Yeah. Humphries was no doubt. This is shady shuffling, but its hard to say definitively that hes cheating, because I can't actually see anywhere that he's actually looking at the deck in any of these videos.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
Humphries gone for four years, Bertoncheaty for three. Good day.

There was a big uproar on r/magictcg because the cheaters had been getting more lenient punishments than the buttcrack guy. I wonder if that's causing them to give out 3-4 year bans
I would have been stricter. Cheating in a tournament that costs that much time and money to get to, let alone play in, and has a cash prize? I'd have handed out lifetime bans. There's no excuses for this shit.

There are certain levels of competition giving people second chances is fine. Anyone who's willing to cheat at this level is probably irredeemable, though, and good riddance to bad rubbish.

I can't believe Bertoncheaty doesn't have a lifetime ban at this point. To not just get caught repeatedly cheating once, but then to come back after one suspension and do the exact same thing... and still 'only' get 3 years, is just incredible.
Like, ok. I am pretty opposed to permabans as a general principal. I don't like the idea that we give up on people and I don't like the idea that people can never changed.
But this guy? This guy clearly doesn't give a fuck. Clearly was, is and always will be unrepentant and clearly just intends to keep doing it. Why exactly would we let him back in?
The one thing I always admired about Bertoncini was that he wasn't afraid to wave it in the DCI's face. I mean, his twitch handle was '2explore', and who can forget when he said his favorite card in Legacy as Explore? I mean, that takes cajones.
I will miss him in that way, I guess? Remember when reynad wrote that article when he got banned(I
still
don't think he actually cheated, as a side note) and had to inadvertently defend Bertoncini? Absolutely hilarious.
This, paradoxically, I think, really has hurt Magic in another way because before the ban, reynad was the number one twitch streamer of MTG--MJ was gettng ~1-2k views at the time and Andrey was getting ~3-5k. After this incident, he jumped ship and is now one of the top Hearthstone streamers(I always see him with between 15-20k views) and he takes every chance he gets to shittalk MtG and WotC. I would not doubt in the slightest that he has hurt them in some slight way, honestly.
I do agree with his statement in the article, though, that the DCI should not be able to issue bans for things said on social media.
I (as a general premise) agree with the idea that social media and outside magic activities should not be within the scope of the DCI except at a pro level, the way any sanctioning body can and does suspend members for breaches of the code of conduct.

I have in the past watched reynad streaming, and I can definitely say that the guy is the most colossal of douchebags. Like, magic streamers have a tendency to issue withering putdowns to the people watching them in this weird kinda I"M BETTER THAN YOU thing, but reynad brought it to a whole new level.
Edit: which of course does not make him a cheater, though

I don't watch him a lot because of the attitude thing, but from what I understand from people that do watch him,the biggest appeal is how upset he gets when he's losing.

They were fantastic, because I built around them. I first picked Jeskai Ascendancy, a pack came by with both of them, and I decided to go all in on noncreature spells. Picked Goblinslide since I knew I'd be light on creatures and Jeskai Ascendancy could make up for the fact that they're just 1/1s. Then Quiet Contemplation wheeled. I absolutely tempo'd out my opponents with a single creature and a single one of the three "noncreature spells matter" cards.
