On a serious note elusive comes off as very town. I can see partly why Ika would defend her but I don't think it's wise to hardcore defend someone personally.

Why? I understand liking the scum side of things (see my response to Elusive's RVS questions), but playing this game you're gonna be town way more often than scum. There's not anything about the challenge of town play that you enjoy? I personally enjoy the challenge and puzzle of it all, even if it's sometimes frustrating as all get out. Just this first day in this game there is already so much to evaluate and figure out, and we don't seem all that close to the end yet ... and this is an open setup!

I know this is mostly non game relevant but I like to get to know folks I play with and that comment struck me as sort of odd given that you will be town around 2-3x as often as you'll be scum on the long term. It also seems counter-intuitive to me for someone to enjoy scum but be apathetic as town. That would quickly result in you being pretty easy to identify when scum came up, as you would be pretty hard pressed to hide your enthusiasm if the gap is so wide.

I'll totally understand if you'd rather wait to answer until after the game, or even not at all. You don't know me or owe me the answer to questions about your personal motives and such.

My alignment preference is not a state secret. It can be found mentioned in a fair number of my games, as well as my GTKAS.

I'm not mislynched much when I'm town because of my apathetic approach (and scum loves my chatic nature), but I'm not lynched all that much as scum either because town is simply too lazy to do their homework.

You haven's struck me as particularly apathetic so far this game. I generally also discount meta as anything more than a weak sorting tool because it's just too easy to manipulate, but I suppose I ought to check out your games and see if I can see a difference between this game and your prior scum and town games. Kinda sucks though that town doesn't entertain you. I find the tension and anxiousness, especially at endgame, to be pretty appealing. Trying to solve the puzzle with scum actively working to mislead me and my fellow townies being in the same position as me is always a fresh experience each time. The variables and such are always different so it is essentially infinitely new each time.

Day 1 in the dark is ... considerably less fun. Coming up on 1600 posts and counting already. Doing a re-read after we get confirmed info is gonna be brutal.

The problem here is that its almost like ika knows elusive is town, and there are a limited number of ways to explain why this could be using only in game methods.

ika (scum), elusive (town) seems like the most obvious, though what if:

ika (scum), elusive (scum) were true?

ika (town), elusive (any) would mean that ika is just out of their mind by defending someone else ever in my opinion without a real in game reason to do so. meta is bullshit, so reads are all I care to analyze, and I just do not feel that this one is as likely. The interaction between this pair just feels off. I sense a disturbance in the force here, but its not enough of one that I can determine its source just yet.

Freeko, ika claimed very early in the game that Elusive was obvtown for meta reasons. I asked for an explanation and he described her meta and she sounded more like ika's explanation of her scum meta than her town one. I pointed it out and he just said he sucks at explaining or something. I wouldn't be shocked if he was scum doing a wk/buddying kind of thing. Problem is, that would make Elusive town and I'm not ready to accept that completely yet. I agree that it's a weird situation and I think it needs to be sorted by like Day 3 or so.

Only things I am relatively sure of elusive, House, egg, KlingonCelt probably town. I know I am town. I don't see anything that really counters my scum theories.

On texcat and A there's the always convincing argument of ignoring all valid posts and saying they are town. Since when is that useful and when does that lack of usefulness help us?

Oh and I am just a Saints fan from far far away. Hence A Royal Saint.
