Some actions are player targeted, these are targeted in the usual way (e.g.
Investigate: Kagami
)
Some actions are flavor targeted, these are targeted using a flavor that may or may not be in the game (e.g.
Investigate: The Tailor
). If the flavor exists in the game, the player possessing that flavor is targeted. If the flavor does not exist, the action will fail and the actor will be informed that the flavor does not exist.
Each phase will be associated with a chapter from the series. The chapters may occur out of order. Each chapter also has a special effect or rule that will last the duration of the phase.
Each living player has a "home chapter."
At the beginning of each Day Phase, it will be announced which players' Home Chapter matches the current chapter. Those players will require an additional vote to be lynched.
At the beginning of each Night Phase, it will be announced which players' Home Chapter matches the current chapter. Those players may not be player-targeted with any abilities.
If the game enters 3-man lylo, it will become Chapter 10, which is no players' Home Chapter, and during which Edelwood Trees may not post.
Flips will only reveal flavor, alignment, and role name.

Nine role-flavor pairings were generated and randomly assigned to the nine players.
One player was randomly chosen to be aligned with The Beast, I contact him via PM, and inform him that he may choose his scumbuddy.
That player retains his original role and flavor, only his win condition is flipped.
Role PMs are sent out to everyone else, reflecting a town win condition. The scum-aligned player receives a placeholder role PM.
I contact the player who is chosen by the scum player. That player's win condition is flipped.
Confirmation phase.
Spoiler: Scum Powers
Scum have a factional, player-targeted night kill. A player may kill and act on the same night.
Scum have a factional, flavor-targeted night kill. This cannot be used on the same night as the player-targeted kill. This action cannot be detected, prevented, or redirected by any ability in the game.
Only one scum member is chosen randomly. The randomly chosen player selects a partner pre-game. It will never be revealed which scum is the randomly chosen one nor which is the selected one.
Scum have a PT, which, by default, is open only during night phases

Hi guys, I'm the Old North Wind, and any town player I hammer becomes an Edlewood tree instead of outright dying. As a result, I should be hammering all lynches unless anyone else has a better hammer power than I do.

on a more serious note, I don't think unnecessarily flavor claiming is a good idea. scum have a flavor-targeted NK, and potentially other abilities that can act on flavor. I'm not sure about this given flavor being public would also allow town to use flavor-targeted abilities without any problems, though.
i would say read the light novels, but the translated ones have been removed from baka-tsuki
you could always buy the official translations.

while it's true I'd almost definitely recruit Nacho, I don't support any form of "PL x bc a lot of people would have picked them as scum". my vote on Nacho was entirely an RV.

do *you* think it's worth PL'ing Nacho solely on the basis that a lot of ppl would pick him as scum? do you disagree that the recruitment system is subject to a lot of WIFOM re: popular targets and thus that the best course of action is to read ppl individually via play?
