• TWO: GAME PHASES AND VOTING
  • Each Day Phase will have an 8 day deadline. Each Night Phase will last 2 days

  • By default, a simple majority is necessary to lynch a player or to No Lynch. If there is an even number of living players, it takes one fewer vote to achieve a No Lynch.
    
  • The Day Phase will immediately end once the hammer vote is cast or if the deadline is reached. Further posting is allowed until the thread is locked, but no day actions may be performed nor can they be altered during the "twilight" period.
    
  • Please post at least once every four days. If you fail to do so, you will be replaced.
    
  • A deadline extension may or may not be granted; just ask.
  
  
  
• THREE: ROLES AND ACTIONS
  • All actions must be submitted in bold either by PM, within a scum PT, or within a masonry PT.
    
  • Actions are resolved at the end of the phase unless otherwise noted. Until that time, players may freely alter their actions.
    
  • No day actions may be submitted or altered after a lynch has been achieved (i.e. after the hammer vote)
    
  • Role interactions are resolved serially, with passives taking priority, followed by actions that specifically interact with other actions, followed by other non-killing actions, followed by killing actions.
    
  • The death of either the actor or target of an action does not cause the action to fail.
    
  • You cannot target yourself.
    
  • In cases where the text of a role PM contradicts these rules, the role PM takes precedence.
    
  • Feel free to ask about role interactions in cases where it may be unclear.

Game Specific Rules

• Some actions are player targeted, these are targeted in the usual way (e.g.

• Some actions are flavor targeted, these are targeted using a flavor that may or may not be in the game (e.g.
  Investigate: The Tailor
  ). If the flavor exists in the game, the player possessing that flavor is targeted. If the flavor does not exist, the action will fail and the actor will be informed that the flavor does not exist.
  
• Each phase will be associated with a chapter from the series. The chapters may occur out of order. Each chapter also has a special effect or rule that will last the duration of the phase.
  
• Each living player has a "home chapter."
  
• At the beginning of each Day Phase, it will be announced which players' Home Chapter matches the current chapter. Those players will require an additional vote to be lynched.
  
• At the beginning of each Night Phase, it will be announced which players' Home Chapter matches the current chapter. Those players may not be player-targeted with any abilities.
  
• If the game enters 3-man lylo, it will become Chapter 10, which is no players' Home Chapter, and during which Edelwood Trees may not post.
  
• Flips will only reveal flavor, alignment, and role name.

• Nine role-flavor pairings were generated and randomly assigned to the nine players.
  
• One player was randomly chosen to be aligned with The Beast, I contact him via PM, and inform him that he may choose his scumbuddy.
  
• That player retains his original role and flavor, only his win condition is flipped.
  
• Role PMs are sent out to everyone else, reflecting a town win condition. The scum-aligned player receives a placeholder role PM.
  
• I contact the player who is chosen by the scum player. That player's win condition is flipped.

A lot of what I think about the game is in the dead thread, but here's a summary:

Firstly, Pie did a great job of being everyone's favorite townread. Town were in an extremely difficult position simply because they were all sure that pie was town, which contributed a lot to the general indecision.

Town made a lot of mechanical misplays early on. MS self-hammering instead of letting nacho doing it was a serious mistake, and likewise nacho's failure to hammer on day 2 prevented town from starting day 3 with two conf-town voices.

Lia never got to act, which is something I didn't expect to happen without nacho's role belonging to scum. As a result, I think the game was significantly less enjoyable for her, since she was promised a tracker role that was never delivered. Of course, that's town's fault in this case, but it's still something I'd rather not be possible in future setups. I should have made Lia's role functional, but unable to track nightkills, if she didn't chop down a tree.

Various plans, mostly scum, were subverted by the pseudo-random chapter effects. I would probably get rid of them if I were to do it again. I just kind of wanted a dreaming god in homage to tarhalindur, but the Home Chapter effects were powerful enough that gaiden's role was already really interesting.

I think recruitment is something I'll avoid in the future, but it was a worthwhile experiment. I also think full flips would have been better.
