Because said person's proclamations are not a bluff and she can fulfill them at any time, it's just that backing the claim up and doing so would be immensely anti-town.

The resistance to the Saint wagon makes it perfectly obvious that Saint's scum if nothing else.
If Saint were town, then scum would leap at the chance. Mislynch town! Set up second town to be mislynched! When said town flips town, set up a third town to be mislynched! Golden opportunity. (Now of course, it'd fall apart at stage two, since I'm not bluffing about being conftown, and if Saint flipped town and I lived to see tomorrow, I'd reveal why, effectively breaking the chain, but the town doesn't believe that so they can always hope.)

They aren't.

Instead, there's severe resistance to the wagon. What is effectively a guilty on Saint, people are trying everything in their power to disregard. Lessening the strength of it. Claiming it's not relevant. Trying to call into question mollie's integrity as a player. And other such cheap tricks. They're trying to keep the wagon on me alive.
Which is another reason to lynch Saint, btw. That there was such resistance to Saint, piled mostly onto me, will show when Saint flips scum that I was the scum's designated mislynch.

Killing Kaboose may have killed Shinra, but I had planned for that. My plan was, more or less, as follows: Kaboose, night five, would have to either take a real action and clear a player (thus why I said, "TARGET: HIPLOP"; it was a signal to him), or kill, and fake a result which I'd be able to see. Jaqen, I wanted to have track Kaboose, to confirm it. (I later was under the impression Jaqen was actually a follower, though.)

I accounted for either situation: Kaboose being town, or Kaboose being scum. I was to act as a diversion, while never actually telling an outright lie. Yes, I knew that Kaboose could be scum, but I knew Kaboose was an investigative role (either a hider or a cop), investigating on odd-nights (why I knew this, I'll show in just a bit), and thus, I had VERY good reason to protect him for a day. I wanted that extra result. I also wanted it so that if he was scum, scum would nightkill him and save us the lynch.

Too bad to be scum?
If anything, you'd have better luck saying I'm too competent to be town, because I figured out these things on my own. (I PMed bork with three PMs over the course of the day, too, and if he posted them to the dead thread as I asked him to, postgame will prove it.) I admit, I was hoping Kaboose was town and that he'd live so I could get hiplop 100% cleared, but oh well, dead scum is dead scum and I had prepared for it.

I'll demonstrate Kaboose's crumbs in a moment, but Kaboose is in fact the reason why I'm town. It'd be better if he were a town player with that role rather than a scum player, but the fact remains that he was an odd-night investigator and investigated me N3. From there, there's only two logical conclusions: the obvious one, he's scum giving a truthful result, or the contrived one, where he's scum fakeclaiming a result on both me and Varsoon (his N1 investigation).

Also, Jaqen's role makes it clear scum can both action and kill during the night, which is something I wasn't expecting (this is why I'm town, btw: I have sharp insight but not perfect insight), and that does change things a little bit, but isn't what I'm focusing on.

, and so on and so forth. I knew Kaboose's claim, and that's why I was so confident in me being conftown and Jaqen being wrong. Kaboose cleared me. Very, very obviously so. So Kaboose's claim which I very much believe conflicts with Jaqen's which I also think was right, but that's because I think Meteor have a redirector.
