My only worry is if Nether forgot to explain that in detail to ika and only did when I asked, and it's not like Nether can confirm that now.

Yep, I'm sharing our feelings. And ika could fake it until we forget about it.

Let's see what others think about this.

Though if I was Nether and this happened, I would say that blackmailed people can use votes for whatever, and just change the ruling back to normal in the next game I'd be using a Blackmailer in.

But ugh.

Ah, I wish the others were here. If I was Nether, I wouldn't say anything and then throw an apology at the end of the game if I fucked up.

An intervention like that would be too intrusive

Yeah, I meant when he explained what blackmailed people can do, not now. Now obviously he can't say anything because he will confirm things.

I just read the blackmailer PM and it says they wouldn't be able to post at all, though.

votes don't count as posts?

Nether confirmed that the blackmailed one could post votes, and could confirm he's blackmailed through posts.

The thing we're discussing was that AA also used the votes to roleclaim as jailor. If them were actually blackmailed, he couldn't do that, unless Nether was lenient to them.

or forgot to tell them the rules behind the post restriction.

But if Nether did everything all right, AA is faking the blackmail and didn't pay attention to 'only use votes to confirm you're blackmailed' bit.

Something random: aristophanes last post was 2 days ago, and wasn't modkilled. That's strange, too. Or maybe not, but oh well.

Sorry for so many consecutive posts, but Nether's wording about the blackmailing stuff implies that AA should have been modkilled or something if he was actually blackmailed.

Like scum reading people trying to second guess what nether would do based on what you would do is risky.

If the rules were worded as can only vote... then that is what he did.
if scum objected that it nullified their role and the spirit of it.... (as was in the PM they received?)
I can see a mod backing up, and thinking 'least harm' would be to just stop it.
If there was a discrepancy between what the blackmailer PM implied happened and what did... going with what did and allowing the restricted, but information flow none the less to continue would be :\

This also adds to the degree to which I perceive rubberiness to be plausible.

New role
will be added: Mafia Blackmailer with the ability to silence a player for the next day phase, effectively forbidding them from posting in the game thread unless at L-1.
Added more clarifications to the role PMs.

Added clarification about self-targeting and dead players targeting to the Game Rules.

Blackmailed player can vote in the game thread, however crumbing any significant information with the votes is forbidden.
I know it is up to the mod...

...But I find this completely arbitrary. How do you determine whether a vote contains "significant information"?

The only information blackmailed player is allowed to share via voting is the claim that he's blackmailed (by random voting once or twice). No other information sharing via votes is allowed.

If we are following that, AA confirming jailor via votes = not really blackmailed.

Random and Axle are currently the only two slots in the I/P but that may change as the final claims get in, I suppose
I put the roles that aren't confirmed (from my point of view) in the random slot

Town Government - Wisdom (Mason leader)
Town Investigative or Protective - rkvothe (not confirmed but pretty likely town)
Town Investigative or Protective - Axle
Town Killing or Power - Ranger (Spy)
Town Killing or Power - EP (Killing)
Town Random - AA (jailor who is potentially lying about being blackmailed), AI (vig), FA (vig), random (protective), Sensei (government), Persivul (unclaimed), Aristophanes (unclaimed)

Neutral Evil - Cultist (3dice)
Neutral Benign - Survivor (Aronis)
Neutral Random - Amnesiac (Yakko), who is presumably town aligned'

So I'm sort of looking at a lynchpool of AA, Persivul, Aristo, and one of random/Sensei

We can only do that if we can ensure that 3dice dies tonight. Let's don't forget about that.

The thing is, making suboptimal plays isn't necessarily going against win condition. I'd rather we just lynch 3dice today... I guess I just don't want to leave anything up to chance. shrug
