A new age of mafia game has begun. No longer are we left to games where a few good players can win the day. No longer will newbie mistakes be so easily righted. If nothing else, this game will teach you that every action has a reaction. Every little thing that you say or do can have an amazing impact on the game. It's about time that you kids learnt that life carries a whole lot of consequences alongside it's rewards. If you want to find success in life, and in this game, you will be on your toes, with your backs to the wall, and your weapon of choice close to hand.

The Rules

Stolen from BM's Mystery Mafia, and tweaked to maximise awesomeness.

[1] DO NOT quote your role PMs directly. You may however paraphrase aspects of your flavour. The only parts of your PM which you can quote directly, are your role and name.
[2] Your votes and unvotes must be in bold (Vote: Example)
[3] You must unvote before you can change your vote. (unvote, vote: Example) Unvotes must be in bold.
[4] You may not discuss the game outside this thread unless your role permits you to. If someone approaches you to discuss the game without me telling you they can do so, please report it to me.
[5] Once you are dead you may not post. Atall. No 'Bah' posts, or anything similar. No ghosts please.
[6] If you wish to end the day without a lynch you may Vote: No Lynch. A majority of these votes is required to end the day without a lynch.
[7] For each day, i will set a default deadline. For Day 1, that will be precisely 1 month. In extreme circumstances i may extend this, but typically, this is fixed. You will be notified of the deadline at the start of each day. If a player is inactive, and has not been replaced, i may remove them from the total number of votes required for a lynch.
[8] Leave any grudges at the door. Personal attacks, or excessive bad language will not be tolerated.
[9] I have no problem with small letters and codes, however i will not tolerate the use of colourful font. All font colours are reserved for my use only.
[10] If you want a player prodded, please request so in thread. I will also prod any players if and when I feel it is appropriate.
[11] If you are prodded, you have 48 hours to either post in thread, or reply to my prod with the reason why you aren't able to post. If you fail to pick up your prod, or if your activity overall is unacceptable, i will replace you, and failing that, modkill you.
[12] Flavour text may or may not contain clues relevant to the game.
[13] Don't edit/delete previously submitted posts. This is a modkillable offence.

Recently there have been rumours. Rumours of the reformation of the Cult of Skaro, under new leadership. Rumours of a return of the Slitheen masses. Rumours of the rebuilding of John Lumic's creations. The 30 of you know one thing- you are not alone. You feel sure that there are innumerable scumbags in your midst, and that many of them are probably protown. You know that nothing is certain, until death. The outcomes of this fight for the innocents are as follows. Either win, and save your planet to fight another day, or lose, and allow Earth to become enslaved by whatever foul creatures escape your glance.
God speed, brave warriors.

All roles have been sent, and thus the game has begun! It is now Night 0. You all have 72 hours to get choices to me, or they will be forfeited. If all choices are recieved earlier, i will cut the night short. Choices that have already been recieved will also be counted.

The majority of you awaken to what you know will be a difficult day. Little did you consider that the night's events might actually have had a positive(!?) impact on your chances of victory.

2 bodies lay dead on the ground. The first of these to be identified is the corpse of

Oman

, who's cause of death is indefinable. His real identity however, can be ascertained. It is discovered that Oman was on the side of good, and his prompt death was mourned by many of the players.

Oman (Mrs Moore) - Vanilla townie has been killed

But that was the end of the mourning for the town. The next body to be found was the lifeless corpse of PookytheMagicalBear. He had tried to rebuild the CyberMen one last time, to take on the forces of the Universe, but he hadn't lasted long enough to make his ambition a reality.

PookythemagicalBear (CyberController) - Cult Recruiter has been killed

One more pleasant surprise was in store for the town however, as another body was missing. After a long search, the players found Kanaga slumped in the corner of a deserted room. His body was scantily clad in Dalekenium, and the players concluded that he was one of the members of the Cult of Skaro.

Kanaga (Dalek Caan) - Mafia Goon has been DELETED

All in all not a bad night for the town atall.
In other news, Vollkan will enjoy a Double-Vote for today, whilst Mastermind of Sin will have no vote atall. Both votes must be used at the same time.

It is now Day 1. With 27 alive, and 27 votes available, 14 votes will lynch.

ok, i'm sorry about the delay. This incident required extensive discussion amongst my moderating team, Mith and I.
To cut a long story short, a player is guilty of intentional breaking some of the most imporant rules on site, and it was thought that his actions could lead to the abandonment of the game.

As it is, i have sought advice from numerous sources, and spoke to witnesses etc, and we are 99% sure that the culprit was

Jamuraan

. As such, he will be appropriately punished for his heinous crimes.

Jamuraan (Dalek Thay) - Mafia Goon has been Modkilled

.

Xythar

will also be replaced due to him irrevocably being tied up in the situation-through no fault of his own.

The game will now continue, still in Day 1, with time lost due to the Pause, being restored to the town.

I thank you all for your patience, and concern showed throughout these past few days. Now, let's forget about the newbs of the past, and get on playing the game with people who WANT to participate.

Lol thanks for that Albert, although i've already been looking into it today. Much as i am intrigued by the suggestion, and the subsequent discussion, i've concluded that anything that could compromise the game's integrity further, should not occur.
As such, i've made an amendment to the rule on codes, following the suggestion of SSF.

Amendment to Rule 9

Codes will be acceptable, providing that all codes are handled manually, by the player themselves. The use of secured automated systems to encrypt roles and other sensitive information is disallowed.

Its not the strategy itself that i have an objection to. It is the fact that i dont have any control over its implementation, and as Moderator, i like to know what is going on at all times. Codes within the thread are fine, but automated codes which could be game-breaking are hereby prohibited.

Thanks to Adel for bringing this to my attention.

It didnt take Shteven long to decide his target. Despite having 13 people eager to contribute to his demise, Shteven decided to enact vengeance upon Flameaxe, who had not contributed to the lynch atall.

With his dying breath, Shteven blasted through Flameaxe's armour, and killed the being within.

It felt like a long night for the remaining combatants. When they awoke, no less than

5

people were missing. They spent over an hour searching the area trying to uncover the bodies-all of which were dead.

The first of these was IamMars. He was found lying in a heap of broken parts. If he had been fixed, it was of no consequence now-he was permanently destroyed.

-Picture Broken-

IamMars (Rep. Chronx) (Fixed K9) - Mason has been EXTERMINATED!

The next body to be found was the corpse of Yamahako. He had tried his best to stop the invasion, but wasn't strong enough to last the course.

-No Picture Available-

Yamahako (Gaming Station Programmer) - Vanilla Townie has been killed.

Body number 3 was Pete D. He hadn't exactly been the Doctor's best friend in the past, but he had been here to help the effort.

Pete D (Rep. Sir T) (Abzorbaloff) - Miller has been DELETED.

The penultimate body to be discovered was that of Vollkan. His alleged ties to the Daleks had come into question for the final time, and he had been mercilessly slain.

Vollkan (Dalek Emperor) - Mafia Godfather has been killed.

And last but not least was perhaps the most surprising outcome of all.
Despite her courageous efforts during her time in the game, she was not going to be allowed to hang around long.

Adel (Replacing CDB) (CyberLeader) - Cult Killer has been killed.

But the game is far from over. It is now Day 2. With 18 players left- 10 votes are required to lynch.

It was a relatively quiet night. Most of the remaining combatants slept peacefully, but for some, this was to be their downfall. Still, when the 15 remaining players arose from their beds, they were pleasantly surprised to find

only

3 corpses! Unfortunately, unlike previous nights, none of those corpses were scum.

The first body to be uncovered was that of Tarhalindur. He had been avidly trying to help a good cause, but it was too late. Once the enemy caught a whiff of him, they knew he had to be stopped.

Tarhalindur (Captain Jack Harkness) - JailKeeper has been EXTERMINATED

The second body to be found was that of Ectomancer. He had done his bit for the town, and now found himself stone cold dead. His cause of death was unknown but one thing was for sure-he wouldnt be able to help them out anymore on this occassion!

Ectomancer (Jake Simmonds) - Vanilla Townie has been Killed

The final body was also innocent, and had an equally mysterious cause of death, but someone few people would be sorry to see die. For as in reality, as in mafia persona, this body was perhaps the most annoying force ever to reach mass media systems.

Night 3, and all was quiet. That is, until everyone heard the screaming coming from outside in the darkness. It was Taffmaster, dedicated as ever in his hunting of scum during the night. Unfortunately this time he was caught in his attempts to uncover a nefarious plot, and his skeletal corpse indicated just how he had died.

Another night of hell continued unabated. When the living players awoke, 2 more of their number had bitten the dust.
The first of these was revealed as MastermindofSin. His skeletal form was lain on the ground, and it was immediately apparent just how he had died.

MastermindofSin (Lynda)- Vanilla Townie has been EXTERMINATED.

The second body appeared to be little more than a layer of skin, but it was still discernible as Ibaesha.

Ibaesha (Rep. Sikario8, TheNinthLayer) (Dr Rajesh Singh)- Vanilla Townie has been Killed.

Pokerface also has an additional vote as his mercy today. Hence, it is now Day 5, and with 11 votes available, it takes 6 votes to lynch.

And in that split second, Yosarian2 was attacked simultaneously by the majority of his fellow players. It didnt take them long to overpower him, as his mask had well and truly slipped.

And the remaining players celebrated, in the knowledge that they had WON THE GAME!

The first of the survivors to reveal themselves was Erg0. In fact, he had been a she all along. Harriet Jones had tried to help the town by using her political power to sway the votes.

Erg0 (Harriet Jones) - Double Vote Giver SURVIVES.

The next survivor to step forward was Pokerface. The man responsible for the death of Dalek Sec had done the town proud. Who said people cant change?

Pokerface (Rep. Theopor_COD) (Adam Mitchell) - Vanilla Townie SURVIVES.

The next person to reveal themselves looked less than pleased with the victory. His daughter was nowhere to be seen, and his wife was dead. With tears in eyes, Setael revealed her true identity.

Setael (Rep. Aisar, Roach, Yosip) (Pete Tyler) - Vanilla Townie SURVIVES.

If it was possible to have another contender for the role of least happy with the victory, it had to go to Kison. Despite saving the world, he had failed to save the woman he loved.

Kison (Rep. Womensrights) (Mickey Smith) - Vanilla Townie SURVIVES

Cicero stepped boldly forward in his wake. He revealed himself as not quite the helpful asset to the town as he had been led to believe, but nonetheless a willing and helpful scumhunter during the day.

Cicero (Martha Jones) - Quack Doctor SURVIVES

The next victor had to be literally wheeled in. Despite the death of his past, the future Xtoxm still remained, immortal as ever, and philosophical in victory as in defeat.

Xtoxm (Rep. Mcpaltp) (Face of Boe) - UnNKable Townie SURVIVES

Only 3 players remained unrevealed. The Fonz was up next, and few people were expecting to see him batting for the town's side. But it seemed he got a taste for killing Daleks, and he had certainly continued in that hobby here.

The Fonz (Rep. Longname) (Anne-Droid) - Vigilante SURVIVES

Shanba and Axelrod looked at each other, and then immediate recognition occured. They nodded, and Shanba stepped forward.
Despite the loss of her companion K9, Shanba was fairly pleased with the result. Not only had she helped save the day, but she had met the one person she had most wanted to see in the world!

Shanba (Rep. Niv) (Sarah Jane Smith) - Mason SURVIVES

So who does that leave? I think you can probably guess. Axelrod had successfully managed to keep himself concealed throughout the entire game, and had met his goal of saving the Earth, yet again, whilst living to fight another day.

Axelrod (THE DOCTOR) - Jack of All Trades SURVIVES

Is this the end?
Only time will tell. But it gives me great pleasure to announce...

Yeah, at the time i was impressed by the way Axelrod handled the situation. I reckon most lesser players would have directly pushed for an ABR lynch, but Axelrod almost seemed to defend him! That was pretty inspired.

As for extra role info, Caps was a normal Doctor. Pooky was killed when he tried to recruit scum (Yos2).

for the record, the Sonic Screwdriver had additional uses than bringing the masons together. Had you targetted Korlash (The Master) you would have been informed that he is a TimeLord. Had you targetted anyone who has travelled in the TARDIS, youd have been told that thay were a companion.

Well then, I don't know what your reasoning was behind our conversation. I also dont understand the reasoning behind your draconian deadline enforcement.

Good game but I recommend you be much less stringent with night choices in future. In games where I am scum, 48 hours is barely time to get my scumbuddies onto the Quickboard once.

If you mean strict, i like to play by the rules to set an example for players. And i hate games that grow stale.

Fyi, had there been a scumgroup remaining, id probably have kept the deadlines at 72 hours.

Good game, everyone. Yeah, we were in pretty deep trouble after Caps double-crossed us back on day 1; that prety much took out eveyone in the scumgroup except me. And man, but I got unlucky on that claim, considering that there were only two people left who hadn't claimed, heh. Oh well; I could have arranged it so I claimed last, but I was pretty much doomed no matter what at that point, I think.

It was a more a case of making a game of it.

And some scum had safeclaims, some didnt.

Pooky/Adel had the safeclaim 'Ricky Smith', and Korlash had the safeclaim 'Rose Tyler'.

A couple of things. I pmed BM after the game and asked him to post what happened night 0 but he has not yet so I will post what he told me for him.

On Night 0 the Dalek's tried to kill MoS
On Night 0 the Garnasha silenced MoS's vote
On Night 0 the Axel investigated MoS
On Night 0 the Tarhalindur Jailed MoS.

MoS was practically a magnet on night 0. The jailing, role blocked MoS and protected him from the one kill that happened that night. I don't know if it would have stopped all kills that hit him, you'll have to still get that from BM Tar, but it at least did stop the one that hit him.

It wouldnt have protected multiple kills.

Hey, I didn't screw anything up! I had to leave because I was told against my will who the Daleks were. Then my replacements proceeded to act scummy and get my role lynched

Like I might have mentioned, I wanted to apologise on behalf of the people who were let in the game as a show of good faith and decided to mess with it. I think part of it (e.g. Aisar and Caps's interactions with other people) were a simple culture clash, but some people did deliberately try to sabotage the game and I am sorry it had to go that way. Yos put up a good fight even considering the basically impossible situation he eventually ended up in, and I definitely respect him for that.

I wouldn't mind playing another game here in the future, properly. One where I don't have to get replaced.

This is true. Unfortunately you could have saved me ALOT of time and effort had you TOLD me who sent you the role info, but nonetheless, i am grateful that you came forward.
