i'd still like to know your reasoning of why rqs is scummy and why you think genji is an exception in this caseIn post 75, The Engineer wrote:Actually nevermind
This must be those rare cases that RQS isn't scummy
No point in me answering because its echoing alot of people
Genji is surprisingly town
not rly weird, roles that affect voting directly should be claimed early cuz scum always feign ignorance laterIn post 77, podoboq wrote:
You're a townread, but I read high activity as town indicative. That's a fault of mine.In post 74, Genji wrote:You have any reads as of yet?
Vedith seems townie from post 72.
Shadowstep is cute....Hated is a weird claim to make early, but it's not necessarily scummy. Just weird.
No scumreads at the moment. I think, for the most part, only scummy trends in play can be scum indicative, so I tend not to have scumreads early.
role dropping like this is about as scummy as role fishing :/In post 87, Tracer wrote:

And also, because I don't want stuff to potentially go horribly wrong, I'm going to hammer my own lynch. I'm pretty sure this won't really matter but just for a safe measure let me hammer myself.
does this matter? there is plenty to comment on right nowIn post 93, springlullaby wrote:

Considering all thats going on here is RVS I will just throw out some random questions for you guys:
1) How do you think this game was balanced as far as numbers?
2) Do you have a negative utility to the town you want to claim now?
3) Do you believe theres a point to full claiming in this game if we are about to be lynched?
No
Always.
To go more indepth with question 3, do you think some roles in this game are more useful or indicate alignment versus say scum roles. As in some roles are naturally have to go to town and wouldn't make sense as scum roles?
That isn't the point. Say, Pre-LyLo we put someone at L-1 and they claim cop with results. Wee don't lynch them that day. We give them a list of three people that they can investigate, they don't say which. Scum now either has to guess who will be investigated and try to shoot them, meaning they have to shoot someone scummy who is a potential mislynch, or shoot the cop, wasting a shot on someone who almost got lynched, or not shoot either, in which case next phase we lynch the cop if it was a town invest, or the person if it was scum, and repeat this until the cop hits town, at which point we lynch the cop and get a conf town. Manipulating the scum shot is one of the strongest tactics that town don't use.
Could you give an example of this?In post 63, podoboq wrote:@post 57 Genji
1) How do you think this game was balanced as far as numbers?
No clue, fam. Usually it's somewhere around 10 town to 3 scum, so I'd assume that until we have reason to believe otherwise.
2) Do you have a negative utility to the town you want to claim now?
Nope.
3) Do you believe there's a point to full claiming in this game if we are about to be lynched?
Usually there is. Some PRs are better left without claiming and just hoping they don't get lynched.vonflare (21:40)

In Musical Mafia, we had a Jekyll and a Hyde, doctor and vigilante, who enabled eachother. When I suspected the doctor, he could have claimed Jekyll, and Hyde could have defended him, but he kept his mouth shut, because outing Hyde would have lost us a vig. There was more nuance to it at the time, but that was the gist of it. Jekyll ended up getting night killed, if I remember correctly.
Full claiming is sometimes, maybe even often, correct. But if the goal is to stave off your own lynch, sometimes you can accomplish that with a partial reveal, and give less information to scum.eagerSnake - "Fwiw mod steals pagetops while driving. The correct play here is to claim the doc part, say that you can't claim flavour due to it giving important info to scum (unless the part about enabling Hyde was in the role card, in which case they should claim everything apart from Hyde's identity)In post 110, podoboq wrote:

I am going to bring back this for discussion purposes:In post 79, Genji wrote:Since we don't have a lot of to talk about, I am just going to out, I do have a sort of negative utility.
I can't vote for someone who shares a very specific passive trait that I have. This makes me think that the person(s) who have this are either town or some neutral role. Otherwise it can cause many issues in a LYLO situation where someone is against the town and I cannot vote them.-

I haven't seen RQS be used to really get townread. It usually gets players scumread or nulled, because in my experience players find it more annoying than RVS. This is kind of besides the point, "Hey guys I'm doing stuff" is usually something scum want to be seen doing in later stages, not the early stages. Most players are usually very disengaged from games in the beginning. I find it is because their is so little to actually talk about. In post 107, The Engineer wrote:
