One of the phrases is more assertive than the other, which often times comes from town. The other leaves a little bit of room for maneuverability, which often times comes from scum. In this case they are pretty much the same, but the phrasing can still be indicative of things.V/LA on Weekends-

I think that phrasing is indicative of personality over alignment in an overwhelming majority of cases. I can't really think of a time where I've been scum and I've used less confident language as scum because...? Is this something you do when you're scum? Is this something that you've seen from other players frequently? In post 101, shaddowez wrote:In this case they are pretty much the same, but the phrasing can still be indicative of things."Playing with Nacho is like playing with a religious conservative." ~UncertainKitten

What makes you think that Tammy isn't someone like Thor?In post 104, shaddowez wrote:I wouldn't say frequently, but it is something I've seen. It's definitely possible that it's personality related (for example, I highly doubt I'd ever catch someone like Thor this way), but it is something I look at when things could have been phrased slightly differently.

I meant particularly in posting style. Thor's posts, in the games I've been in with him at least, are almost entirely full steam ahead. That's why I used him as an example of not finding a non-assertive post.In post 105, Nachomamma8 wrote:What makes you think that Tammy isn't someone like Thor?V/LA on Weekends-

The point that I'm dancing around here for reasons that I don't entirely comprehend is that Tammy has the opposite of a full steam ahead playstyle. This is her personality; her cat is named Waffles in part because of her tendency to waffle here and in part because she didn't name said cat for days (weeks?) because she couldn't settle on a name for him. Your point is super duper not alignment indicative in this specific case, but I can't really think of a time where it would be alignment indicative in general. It's a bad tell. Do you have anything else?"Playing with Nacho is like playing with a religious conservative." ~UncertainKitten

How do you think he would have responded to it as scum? I'm skeptical because I'm not really sure how him giving weight to that opinion would translate to the thread, if that makes sense. In post 110, Kagami wrote:Rule out is prob a bit strong, but scum-infinity would consider that town-wisdom was correct about him tryhard-ing and would give particular weight to that opinion.
Instead he appears to have completely ignored wisdom's post in considering farside's position."Playing with Nacho is like playing with a religious conservative." ~UncertainKitten

I think in general people word things according to how they write and feel. I'm not sure how strongly asserted a page two read is supposed to be. Most people just structure their sentences the same regardless of alignment. You don't need room to maneuver; you can always change your mind with new information and posts. I've never understood the people who play scum leaving room open to do that, but I think it's probably a comfortability thing.
I'm not sure how scum!infinity would react or behave in relation to a small thing like a try-hard tell. In the maze game, he didn't change up his game when someone scum read him early. In fact, changing your game when a person points something out is a red flag.I am in the top 90% of scumhunters onsite!-

I think it would translate, at the very least, in him thinking that farside potentially had a reasonable motive for voting him, which doesn't come across in our discussion of farside's motives. In post 112, Nachomamma8 wrote:

My fundamental issue with this whole thing is that his treatment of wisdom's "me no like tryharding" attack and farside's emptyish vote attack is oddly asymmetrical.
In going into the farside thing, I didn't get any sense of why he questioned her beyond (ironically) a desire to appear to be doing something.-

I do think that it's interesting that he was in a "question everything" sort of mood and let the try-hard accusation go unanswered, didn't catch that before."Playing with Nacho is like playing with a religious conservative." ~UncertainKitten

Mr. Scruffy would like to know if this is an RVS vote or has actual backing.

Oh joy I'm being discussed.
It always feels like someone who talks about you without addressing you is a peeve I've had. Trying to step in bugs me too.
That's just me ranting a bit.
Now that I got that out of my system my vote on Infinity is serious.
I don't see why my vote should bother him or being questioned. He knows I've been a type to not to conform.
Wraith is another scum read I have currently.
The paranoid person in me is scared that I'm town read kagami. It's mostly hypothetically paranoia so I'm just noting it for now.Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.
