Burden of proof is on the accuser, especially day 1, where it is very hard to see who is town because there is less information/time available for scumhunting to work with.

That's what my teacher says as well. Long story short I don't like his case but the real thing I'm concerned with where it's coming from (the player and the reasons for the case). He said he also pulled this case out of a skim read which I thought was a little off. Thus I voted him. Provoked some interesting discussion as well. I would like to see how he responds before I go back or forwards with this.

VCA is overrated. its a tool, a starting point, and an easily manipluated one since most people will not bother to do their own work if somebody posts their own 'results'.

Firstly I would like to say that skimming this topic was mistake since TWO people provided misinformation that Creature was at L-2 (Soldier and MsGreen). I'm not going to read into that for now.

Time to lay out all the cards on the table, I suppose. Consider this a serious case against Ranger. Basically, I think her whole strategy is a ruse.

1. Her lists
... are not reads lists because they literally have no content attached. This is called fluff.
... are sliding scale with multiple degrees of towniness and scumminess with tiers that move up and down arbitrarily or sometimes disappear. This

reeks

of deception to me. Scum can

easily

manipulate this so-called "puzzle" to tilt the town.
... are an added distraction and source of confusion to the town. This is scumplay.

2. She has given a total of (3) reasons for her reads this game. Two of them are meta-reads on Klingoncelt and KainTepes. The third is italicized in the quote below:

If it makes you feel better, I don't see anything that really ties you together. It's just you two happen to be the scummiest players in the game and I'm townreading to some extent all the other players.

How can you make this generalized statement to help justify your vote on Creature (and read on Klingoncelt) when you have several other players in null and null-scum tiers? This statement

one of two things

regardless of your alignment

: either your "reads puzzle" is bullshit and you actually only get scum-vibes from Creature and Klingoncelt -OR- you are falsely padding your reasoning by making a blanket statement. Since both outcomes are scummy, the logical deduction for me is that you're actually Scum and you are guilty of using deception -AND- padding your reasoning.

Ranger as much as I enjoy your vague teasing, what you're doing would be really easy to fake as scum. We have no way of judging the sincerity of your reads.

No trust is needed. My reads speak for themself. If you think they are right, then that's great. (This currently seems to be the case.) I don't need to do anything more. If you think they are wrong, then I'll continue to push harder. (I have not seen this.) I'll either be proven right or proven wrong. My alignment isn't really relevant, though, given with this playerlist I'm a near-guaranteed nightkill.

Except your reads don't speak for themselves. Except other players have called you out and you just hand-wave over things (more on this below). Creature is genuinely trying to engage you and you brush him off. Bonus: self-town-confirming WIFOM. Sheesh.

The acryon-GoodNightMsGreen fight is boring.

As for why I think Creature is town:

137 is honest and I happen to agree with everything he said except about Masquerade, whom I am of the opinion is town too.
Furthermore, his reaction to his accusers has not been an overreaction and he is attempting to dissect points and fill in holes.
