the university's professors were not thrilled - they held the belief that the path to a psychology degree needs to be filled with pain and suffering. determined to end the club once and for all, they found a group of like-minded students, those who also understood the importance of the profession. these

professors' pets

infiltrated the club, posing as genuine members while they sabotaged the club's actions and gathered enough material to get club members, and eventually the club president, expelled from the university.

as the battle is happening, another presence lurks among the struggle;

players will pick four roles from the Grand Idea Mafia thread. Each of them has a different alignment requirement though.

The first pick is a

Town

pick, which must be either Town or Mod Discretion aligned. If a Mod Discretion role is picked for your Town pick, it is guaranteed to be Town-aligned.

The second pick is a

Groupscum

pick, which must be either aligned with a groupscum team (such as Mafia) or Mod Discretion aligned. If a Mod Discretion role is picked for your Groupscum pick, it is guaranteed to be groupscum aligned.

The third pick is a

Free Space

pick, which may be of any alignment.

The fourth pick is a

Mod Discretion

pick, which may be of any alignment but the picked role will have the alignment be up to moderator discretion.

If you fail to submit a pick or your pick is vetoed, it will be replaced with a Mod Discretion Vanilla.

Game-breaking or unfun roles may be vetoed. Roles that massively change the setup may also be vetoed.

Welcome to the

Wheel of Sadistic Garbage

. Be warned, this is an extremely bastard setup. The theme of this game is "how many horrible things can I do to the players of this game." If you sign up for this game, please be aware that any and all awful things can and will happen to you up to and including: Modkills for no cause, alignment changes, moderator lies that cannot be reasonably anticipated, undue mod influence, and more. Do not sign up for this game if you are going to be upset if anything of that nature happens to you.

The core mechanic of the game is the wheel of garbage. Each game day I will spin the wheel of garbage between 1 and 3 times throughout the course of the day, which will be determined by RNG. The timing of the spins will also be determined by RNG. The wheel will land on one horrible mod action and I will gleefully take that mod action, then we will all go on with our lives and pretend that nothing has happened. I will not confirm or announce what the mod action was, though some will be more obvious than others.

Additionally this setup is bastard in design for roles and resolution.

I cannot stress enough that you should not join this game if you do not want to play a game of mafia heavily influenced by random and frequently unfair and unpleasant mod actions.

Have you ever lamented that you didn't get the role/abilities you wanted in a Mafia game? Have you ever thought "What I wouldn't do for a dayvig just about now"? Have you ever gone down the ability modifier rabbit hole?

Yes? Then this game is for you!

Each player will get to choose up to 5

non-bastard

1-shot abilities. Players can also request modifications for those abilities. Normal modifications are ok, non-normal are also ok, but if they are waaaay out there I'll say "No".

I will craft roles based on your ability request, giving you 1 to 3 of them depending on game balance considerations. I may not be able to take specifically requested modifications, also depending on game balance considerations, but I will do my best to honor them while making the game design fun, challenging and balanced.

This game will almost certainly be swingy.
There will be no bastard abilities, no bastard mechanics, and no moderator lies.

Personal 3 Reload Mafia is, prospectively, a 17p Large Theme. The game is currently in the design phase and will enter formal signups in late May.

This game will have a postcap mechanic. Each slot will be allowed up to 100 posts per gameday for every slot, with some wiggle room for simple vote changes, replacements, etc. Each player will also be given a reserve pool of 10 posts to last the entire game. See Mafia Invictus Redux for an example. There may be other mechanics that affect this restriction.

7 pre-in slots are available via PM. Hydras are acceptable, but will share the postcap. WOTM/Blacklists will be enforced.

The first pre-in slot is specially reserved for Not_Mafia, but may open up if he declines.
