Uh...I was going to say that RVS shows some good personality traits actually...If you try to float by when scum for example, joking around too much in RVS is a good sign...even though it's just a first step....

I think reading intent in passionate posts is challenging. Scum can fake passion and even be frustrated 4 realz but it is a lot harder to fake believing in a read. Scum can easily state facts about what frustrates them but actually analysing in detail is often a lot harder.

Mutant..... Isn't having reads. I see this coming from scum who are frustrated that Fumuki is behaving the way he is / isnt largely scumread (low hanging fruit etc. etc.) just as much as I can see it coming from town who is frustrated at fellow-town-Fumu

In practice it's annoying, bad play as either alignment. Scum are perfectly likely to notice lynchbait as they are to bite at the lowest hanging fruit. Town are just as likely to query and attack stupidity as they are to ignore it.

All it does in practice is separate people who will tolerate dumb crap from people who won't. Which is not alignment indicative, only playstyle indicative.

As a general piece of advice I dislike the idea of playing worse than you are, unless you're very self aware & experienced and know how others will perceive you. I'm nowhere near this level, I just like having opinions!

Also. I agree the pace of this game has been fun.

Also, if it's the excessive walls that you are town reading, just note that I've since melted those kinds of posts into multiple posts like I'm doing right now. Basically, previous all the posts I've just written would be in the same post. I've changed my playstyle a little since that game so that people stop complaining at me for writing giant walls of text (though I'm still able to do that when I have a lot to say surrounding 1 subject).

I have a predisposition towards scumreading wallposts because they're needlessly hard to navigate - the exception is when they're transparently well written (Skitter30 from our last game is a brilliant example, she's my favourite wallposter.

Last game what pinged me as towny af even before your wagon proper was how open you were with what you were thinking about other players and shit. Here it initially felt like you were overfocusing on Fumuki etc. to avoid actually having to give reads

Your catchup post reads pretty ok so I'm happy putting the squeeze on that other guy and letting you do your thing.

How are your TRs post catchup btw?

Both lines of argument are awful at this point. Turns out, the strength of my reads are determined by the town tells other people give off in a particular game, and my ability to pick up on them.

I agree strong reads are only valuable when you actually believe them but evasive reads which contain reasons to withdraw them later are a far better scumtell than confidence!

In a manner of simplifying, town tends to present as genuine while scum prefers to present as correct.

Completely selfish reasons which is that my TRs are a lot more accurate than my SRs D1. D2+ the gloves are off though. So the motivation for me giving a readslist at this point is to try and give as accurate reads as possible so I don't look like a fool when I document my reads in my wiki. And ofc this helps other people trust my reads more D1 (if I am Town) so it's really a win win for my win con.

This post made me think about how there was a distinct lack of hostility between the worst, Sando and Oxy. Usually, these kinds of arguments can get quite heated and, whilst there was some frustration with each other, this argument remained calm.
