And while I'm on the subject of voicing perhaps somewhat far-fetched concerns, I think MariaR may have been trying (is still trying to?) pocket Nancy Drew. I first noticed it upon my first readthrough of the thread where it seemed like much of what Maria was saying was engaging with Nancy. When I put it like that it doesn't sound so bad - especially as Ms. Drew is quite the content producer - but I think that reviewing Maria's ISO may help illustrate my point for anyone interested.

To give a few quotes to illustrate my point:

I believe it was these two quotes that first caused me to realize this while reading through. Something about the singularity of the read as well as the question made it look to me like Maria had the goal of tying to get Nancy to strongly townread her; anyone who played in or has read Minuet's Trio (or, I assume, other games with Nancy) should realize that it's not much of a difficult task.

I decided not to bring this up initially in order to observe if the pattern of behavior would continue, and I think that it did with this quote:

Hm, I think that's pretty transparently false, as a look at your ISOs show. You only ever asked a single question to her: the nonspecific "Who else are you looking at", which was never followed up on. Yes, you talked to her, but in my view more of your content was about making a show of interacting with her and having a strong townread on her in order to pocket her.

Like I pointed out earlier, I think a post like this doesn't come from someone who just wants to "bounce ideas off of someone"; I think it comes from someone who wants to make a show of their read. (Especially as considering the timing between this post and the last in your ISO and the content ignored between those two posts; for someone who claims to have wanted to get ideas from her, you certainly ignored a lot of what she posted)

Game starts off with nobody full on lurking - everybody is sortable, vs a day 1 lynch with slots nobody can read and everybody is ok lynching
Nobody claims their role prematurely only to get unvoted and move onto the next wagon

Town is made to pay attention to players who are lurking/active lurking on day 1

Here are arguments for this being a bad idea:

People are impatient and want to hurry the game up (I don't care)
People think there's no readable content without votes - not true, people can discuss reads, and of course when I vote the votes will be open to everyone and they can put their money where there mouth is. Momentum can still form, in a sense.
People don't want to contribute to the game on day 1/before there are flips (The rest of us do want you to contribute on day 1/before there are flips)

But tell you what, I'm not a tyranical dictator, if this proves to be wildly unpopular then I'll open up the day if 13 players type HEAL: Start the day, though I would prefer that everyone contributed

Vc's like 1.6 and 1.8 don't make me think Nos is scum but I think 1.6 to 1.7 is one of the more telling VC's in the set looking at said vote counts I think moment is one of the worser looking people in this. I was townreading them for how they were scumreading me for buddying and that's not really false but I'd like to hear if I'm coocoo or not for suspecting that I imagine'd they would be voting me here but it doesn't seem like they are. i think i get mislynched in games a lot because i primarily olay mafia on a different website. my playstyle and my method of getting reads pings people as scummy because it goes against mafiascum site meta.

if it isn't obvious, i tend to read largely off of tone, and i slowly develop consistent reads throughout a game by questioning people about what they think and checking their responses for logical consistency, scum-motivation, etc.

being straight up, this type of situation tends to give me whiplash because i get legitimately kind of pissed off when people vote me as town. it seems so obvious from my perspective that im not scum and that this is a lazy wagon, but it means that i need to fight the misled town into not voting me, which makes me feel like i can't lay back and just develop my own reads, which is essential for my play.

im trying to do a catch-up post with reads and thoughts but every time i do i end up getting overwhelmed by the amount of effort required and say "fuck it, ill do it tomorrow."

so, that's where im at. i will try to get reads within the next day or so.

I'm trying, but my eyes keep glazing over whenever I try to read through her posts (although this probably isn't something I'm experiencing that's exclusive to her).

It is interesting that her flurry of posting comes right as TBG becomes a viable counterwagon to Matt, whereas she was in hardcore lurk-mode while Matt was the sole leading wagon.
