Are only town aligned players the ones without role flavor?
Short answer: No.

The idea behind redacting flavour is to prevent alignment-confirmation through matching your role with your flavour.

So, if claiming one's flavour
would directly lead to them getting lynched
, then they got it. (there's no need to redact flavour that is indeed incriminating on it's own). Everyone else's was redacted.

Does this answer your question?
I think I like this better than the “no flavorclaiming allowed” take to alignment indicative flavor

If it's the hydra thing, yeah Hydras in general scare me because someone can post under someone else's name and I'm basically reading 2 different people.

Didn't know which one you wanted answered, so I said all 3.
More often than not hydras tell the truth of what head is posting
Me and NM had a hydra where we lied about which head was posting, and it was kinda cool

if not the first time, then the blatant alignment info you got for Porkens would have indicated this is basically a cop and you should pick your target more carefully.
I think I see more Town motivation from Chickadee’s actions than scum motivation, anyone wanna talk to me on this?

This is a bad argument. Copping inevitable mislynches is a reasonable move imo, because the value of the inno's goes up in that if you cop a strong player and get an inno, they weren't going to be getting lynched anyways. I get the arguments for copping the people driving the game, but still. I disagree that they're bad cop targets in and of themselves(though if one assumes lots of town vigs, just letting them get vigged is even better than copping them...still saves the mislynch. :P )

-Cerb
I actually disagree. If you cop a likely lynch, two things will happen: you find Town, and you’ll probably have to claim once your inbox is run up, or you find Scum and you don’t get the advantage of that check when you fullclaim and reveal all the unflipped slots you checked.

Town: Jingle, Toogeloo, NicoRobin
Townreads: Thor (rather than being a locked in read, this is a starting point for the read)
Scum: TPFKAP (probably means nothing)

You and Mala should play this game the way Cerb and I played in Protomen. We were a 3rd party faction with a partner who could win with the town (which you can do, and mala can
maybe
do if we power through scum quickly enough). We realized immediately that we could win with the town only if we won fast, and we nailed it.

Sometimes 3rd party really can play for town's win con. We certainly did with every intent (and success) right from the start of that game.

So ... do the same and we won't ever have to rope you to avoid you choosing the easy win if the game goes to a kingmaker or M/LYLO situation.

~D

P.S. - The chances that NR dropped in the "2" crumb and somehow isn't HoB are drastically low. Hands of Blue. Two by two. Since we have our character redacted, there's no way that NR did that as a River crumb. Tails did a good job trying to salvage the slot, and even avoided the Amished tell ... but it's still the most probable slot we have to be scum,
and
the flip acts as a check on Chick

Tails did a good job trying to salvage the slot, and even avoided the Amished tell ... but it's still the most probable slot we have to be scum,
and
the flip acts as a check on Chick
.
Huh?
If Tails flips Jayne, we can go: "Wait, wtf? How would videos of Simon and River lead to Jayne?"

That's entirely missing the point. The point isn't that they died in the comics. The point is that they were never even referenced in the movie.

The first of the two videos is about the movie. Entirely about the movie.

I'm not disputing that the angle of "They're focused on Simon and River, therefore videos of Simon and River." makes sense. I'm arguing that including a video of the portion of the flavor for which the character is conspicuously absent is a shitty way to leave a clue about the character.

Your case is built on two pieces of evidence that I believe to be counterindicative. A result from Chick suggesting NOT HoB and a crumb from NR suggesting HoB.
I disagree with the conclusion that the absence of HoB from the film means the slot can't be HoB.

. You win when all threats to the Serenity Crew are gone."

I am not Compulsive.

I'll also happily lynch any 3rd party claim, but that's not the same as actively hunting for 3rd party.
That's why I said the problem isn't solely the ignorance, but also the RETICENCE to discuss the matter. It's the attitude they approached that line of questioning with; evasion, then a claim of being afraid of being modkilled, then finally posting *something* that corresponds exactly to the sample role pm given. The last part is immaterial, but the fact that the conversation didn't start with that is a red flag to us.

Can you expand on Chara here?
I'd need to go look through their quotes, but they did definitely act as though they had seen the same thing jingles saw; reevaluation in depth is necessary to gauge how strongly I should townread them as a result of those posts however. It's important to note that the knowledge displayed by these slots does *not* conftown them; it's a simple logical deduction to look at the only significant interaction we had with flicker, and the critical difference between the sample role PM and the scum flip(that is, the clear warning that town do not have flavor) and realize that there was SOMETHING in at least our role PM that didn't match up and was making us suspicious. In spite of the possibility that observant scum could have faked these reactions, those slots are off the table for lynching today at least.

How does what make sense Gamma? I don't entirely understand what you're getting at. The game is based on both the film and the tv show. The use of material from the movie in clues that are clearly focused on characters in both mediums does not mean that a character which interacts with that character in just one medium can't be the subject.
In post 3284, Chickadee wrote:

I’ve asked, but regardless of answer, I’m not interested in wasting days to cop people multiple times.

I’m not interested in a tails or a flicker lynch based on reasons provided. I think there’s compelling evidence to suggest tails is town. Even without the results I got, I think their play has been town today.

@RR I also don’t have flavor textin my pm. It’s just [REDACTED], role, explain roll.

Can we all get on a McMenno lynch?
No we can't. See my response to Thor below.

@Thor: Forgot to quote, sorry. I am not hard towning NDS. I am, however, unwilling to vote anywhere that I believe is less likely to find scum than Flicker and Tails, and NDS falls into that category(as does McMenno).

Also, Jingle's one of my strong townreads at this point. I feel like checking him or Gamma is a waste when we could be looking for another of the scum/3P who seem to outnumber us.
We didn’t actually claim any flavor explicitly, pardon? All we’ve done is speculation.

This is why I don’t think we should rush this lynch, in case there could conceivably be both a doc and bg in this setup.

I’m torn between Chick’s inistence that Tails/Nico is either Simon/River and Nico’s weird possibly traitor-signaling type post.

However, Nico was MIA prior to Tails subbing in and therefore seems unlikely to be Simon, unless there’s another proective in the story that could explain a 2nd doc. Is there?

If Chick is River, then how does bg Tails explain Simon, because obviously a full doc had to have protected Toog on N1. So if Nico/Tails is Simon, then which character would be the doc?
Each HoB has a JK right? JK is used, LR attracts it, kills are stopped. Make sense?

EJ's motivations have very clearly been "Survive to Endgame" the entire time. Like, most obvious motivation ever. Could be scum, could be survivor. The "Oops, I'm town" retraction was very clearly an attempt at WIFOM to keep himself alive. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the change from Doc to Hider is a fakeclaim to keep himself alive. I'm also not really worried about it, because the way he's gone about it means he's almost certainly not going to endgame us unless we drop the ball massively.
Funny thing is that EJ’s day-to-day play is Survivor-esque

What why?
Jingle is making bad setup spec and is protecting a known liar when his(?) claim is shit.
Plus he is also protecting Tails.
You and he are a package deal.
Elsa is fishy AF
Mala claimed 3P.
1) Jingle was also pushing Tails for a time?
2) I assume you think me+Jingle+Tails are all teamed. Who do you think is last HoB?

I die in their place. Lynch or NK doesn't matter.

That's why it's doubly hard for Mala to win. I don't mess with lynchers I just mess with Mala specifically.

I don't have the crew member extra line thing. I also have a tendency to confirm my alignment to the mod when I confirm my role but since this game it wasn't explicitly stated I added something like I assume I'm town, to which A50 replied and his reply implies that town is made up of serenity + allies. Whatever that means.

That's all.. I didn't want someone to try to fakeclaim Mal somehow. I also wanted to keep the WIFOM of me being Mal as long as possible as that would literally be the best way to keep him alive.

This got a small chuckle out of me, I had a similar role in a game from 2016 (Death Note Mafia). I can’t get into the best part though.

Afawk, only RR has claimed anything non-doc related wrt to NAs. And like I already said, she obviously couldn’t have been roleblocked right or she would have know it and no one has claimed anything else - unless someone is either lying or failing to be forthcoming.
Chick's a day flavour cop, not a night one. she woupdn't have noticed.

Do you really think Tails sacrificed his kill by JKing Chick, rather than kill? With 2 scum and only 1 townie dead, it seems strange.

And then why did Tails push RR lynch, if they could confirm him?

And how do you explain Thor kill then?
Tails didn’t know what RR was?
