MathBlade has been transparently town to me from jump and I'm not thrilled with there already seeming to be somewhat of a consensus scum read there

He's clearly not the most charismatic player itg (no offense!) and I feel that's being used to put him in the hot seat already and there is absolutely no scum motivation to start and maintain this back and forth with Prism so early on

I agree with you on that, remember, reading emotions is how I read the game.

I'm asking why Cakez felt the need to use that word in particular. Meltdown makes it sound so much messier, more charged than what it was. I mean, it's not like I recently laid out exactly why I take a second look at players who do that or noted the very real fact that it has netted me scum on a shockingly accurate basis. I could be misapplying what amounts to a personal tell that only works when the target is me, but there's only one way to fine out.

So no, we're not nitpicking over a definition. I'm not even calling Cakez scum. But here's the thing: Attempting to paint another player as more angry or volatile than they are has serious scum equity. And so I want to know: why the word meltdown? And while we're at it, I want to know if Cakez thinks Math is scum or town. This is not a hot take, it's a good one.

Three of Dunny's four posts have been low effort nitpicks, and the other was a mechanics question that I didn't understand. 174 specifically doesn't sound like something town says, questioning specific players about their sangres read is one thing but shading everyone town reading them without explanation is useless. It reminds me of Titus vs. Alisae when I caught him for similar shady, nitpicky posting where he'd lurk and post full quote-wall catch ups taking potshots at random shit that never ended up forming into genuine reads or having real progression.

And while I've been scum in my three recently completed games, Dunn has been town in all of them and he it was obvious from his first few posts. That's not the case here.

Maybe I'm calling this out too early and it would have been better to see how he continues to play the game without my interference but I kinda want to try and this is me trying

Yaknow I really wanted people to ask me about Prism so I could do this sooner but I actually don't feel like waiting as a reactive thing so I'mma be proactive and put this out.

I actually have a fairly compelling case for why I think Prism is scum here.

First I want to preface this by saying I'm intentionally playing more abrasively. As mentioned before, diversity is nice and I'm tired of playing friends after Iceland.

1: Nine times out of ten, a player saying this is going to be scum. Deliberately altering your playstyle in a game with multiple players intimately familiar with your playstyle and justifying it in advance is a common scum ploy. (Heck I can even back this up with a rather notorious example if you'd like, but suffice to say, this is a real tell.)

2: Nothing Prism has done this game has felt town. Quite the opposite in fact.

3: I believe Prism's flavor claim of being HG Wells--I do not believe HG Wells would be a VT.

4: I believe HG Wells started with the trident. I do not believe HG Wells started with it as town; I believe it was a scum artifact that Prism is trying to get towncred for.

5: I believe the flavor claim of being HG Wells--I do not believe that makes the claim town. Everyone who watched the show probably remembers how HG Wells ended up, as a retired warehouse agent more or less...but did they forget that HG Wells spent

In other words I think that Prism is a scum HG Wells, who is not a VT, and who started with the flavor-appropriate trident, and passed it on for cheap towncred.

I shut down dialogue about whether or not I am scum or whether or not my thinking makes sense because engaging people on their read of me is unpleasant for me and rarely feels productive. I will explain my thinking, but "does it make sense for Bell to be this paranoid on day 1 about me given I posted like once in FGO and he is using that as the basis for his opinion of me doesn't make sense." I refer to the idea of how foundational (by necessity really) first impressions are and they rarely go away. I did not feel like going through the minor frustrations of articulating myself on that, not because I'm scum, but because it's just hard to explain how I felt about your posts in FGO and how when reisoing your slot later in that game turned me away from thinking you were scum and how that was problematic for the game state at the time. Because I felt that your early post was distinctly townie in appearance. Now somebody being famliar with your play an calling it a scum claim is great and all but I didn't know that nor was I likely going to give them the time of day on a swipe read like that, that they made in jest and didn't even follow it up with a vote.

This is entirely a reaction to Mini Normal 2181. Bork's initial play that game was extremely careful, and I wound up catching him testing me for a potential weak link rather than genuinely hunting. In later stages of the game, he was clearly felt positionally paralyzed, played extremely scared, and blatantly had no idea what to do.

This game he's been a lot less worried about specifically where he's at and what he should do next and a lot more off-the-cuff. He's still taking down other people's reasoning when he feels it appropriate but it's no longer blatantly testing for a place that's safe to stand. The questions have actual hunting incentive and he hasn't been nearly as afraid about who to go after and when.

ie. Very subjective meta read.

I think her early posts addressing MathBlade directly seemed Town. Even mentioning policy limming didn't bother me, I perceived it as her trying to get Mathblade's head out of his ass. I also think Titus' early interactions with LLD lean way more Town than Scum.

Random thoughts:
I made this reads list a little top heavy; I'm open to reevaluating my Town reads down the line but I feel good about a lot of people and I wanted my reads list to reflect that. If I were being conservative I'd probably put KTT in Townlean and bork, Prism, and LLD in null.

To elaborate a little bit on the Mathblade read, I felt from the beginning that there's no reason for Mathblade to thrust himself into the limelight during the Prism Flavor Saga (which is a good title for a fantasy book series). When met with a ton of pressure after his flavor arguments, and declared the lim for the Day by the claimed mason, he doesn't back down, which tells me he's anything BUT survivalistic as a lot of people are trying to characterize him (this is probably the first place I'm going to look for scum in the event Mathblade is mislimmed, btw). I find myself agreeing with a lot of his later posts, such as his reach out to KTT and SirCakez as TvT (although he seems to be back on the Cakez is scum train?), and his recent exchanges with Titus always leave me questioning Titus and completely understanding where Mathblade is coming from. I already cited 1304 as a the towniest post in the game and I stand by that an hour and a half later.

KTT wins most improved: From humble beginnings as an early scum lean, they have catapulted themselves to one of the top spots in my town pool thanks to both heads' recent posting.

Cakez feels natural and isn't trying too hard to be a badass so he's probably Town.

I almost put GreyICE in the scum lean category, I didn't like his first several posts where he emphasized how he didn't care about the Morning phase, and I don't like how the majority of his content is wrapped up in picking apart mastina's walls. These interactions with mastina don't really fit with the rest of his play style this game. Like cool we can all find some shit wrong with mastina's posts in every game she plays, regardless of her alignment. I felt, and still kinda feel, that getting into a back and forth with mastina of all people would be easy for scum to do because it makes a big show of "scumhunting" when it doesn't really accomplish anything. But then I remembered his first post where he immediately checks mastina's ISO for a scum read, so there is precedence for his focus on mastina. And I seem to recall GreyICE pretending to give a shit every time I've seen him as scum, and his early posts don't really point to that. So all of this cancels out into a null read, congrats. Be more readable pls

I hated Battle Mage's vote on Mathblade, he had a previously stated town read on him and his justification for the 180 in the read was that Mathblade was being survivalistic which I already explained is like the exact opposite way I would characterize Math's behavior. He also had a post that rubbed me the wrong way about SirCakez having a great scum game, which to me seemed to fuel the fire of the ongoing Cakez paranoia at the time without really contributing his thoughts on Cakez in a meaningful way? Felt like scum taking a potshot from the sidelines. And while I was Scum in both Xenoblade and Pooky vs. FL (I sound like a broken record) I thought Battle Mage was super obviously Town in both those games and I don't get those vibes here. But I also didn't give a fuck about reading him in those games so take that with a grain of salt.

This is exactly what happened in Boonskiies that I took advantage of as scum. I manipulated the RA hydra into continuing to push Angel to the point Angel scum claimed (as town) to protect sequence. At best Mastina is deluded town here. At worst she’s scum who wants Titus alive. Her reads are crap and her mechanics are crap and LLD’s take her list and flip it upside down is better than right side up imho (exception LLD obvi)

I see the delusional stuff in 1391, I'm not as familiar with Titus but I absolutely buy it, and I don't see as many issues with the reads wall as you do in 1568. In particular, I think her stances on Tammy, mastina, and the lack of stronger scumreads besides yourself are really questionable as scum. These also largely match up to what I saw from her thinking in her ISO.

This does remind me that I should reread her specifically to check out the progression on you.

when she is town and under pressure she doesn't react the way she is reacting here. she does not get this defensive for sure.

@Prism, Sir Cakez' received some critique of his scum game in the Among Us large theme post game, and I understand that he applied it in the Booneytoonz game. Long story short, he's always tended to bus too easily. He worked on that in the BoonyToonz game. I'm not firing on all cylinders atm but I don't ~think~ his behavior around his partners was a big factor in what you were comparing from Xeno to here, but maybe I missed it. Here's his booneytoonz ISO. I'll take a closer look at this tomorrow. It seems like something that would be more useful to consider on Day 2, though his day 1 positioning on Noraa in Xeno looked scummy and also highlighted her as a likely partner.

I initially liked that he was concerned about the quiet issue and being in everyone's poe/bronze piles, but looking back Cakez had quiet in his would bronze list. He didn't like quiet's position on Mathblade the way quiet danced around mathblade but didn't take a position. He then got worried about his activity vs. booneytoonz. He then starts calling quiet a LHF bronze when criticizing mastina's reads list and finds it odd that everyone else had that scum read too. When Titus calls him out on it, he says he made the post in response to seeing quiet in Prism and someone else's bronze piles. But here's where that loses me. Prism is a never bronze for Cakez, so why does quiet being in his super strong town read's list make him nervous? And he doesn't do anything with the other one, he says he'll have to go back and look. He mentions that he also had him on his bronze list until it seemed clear he flaked and the flaking is the key there. I guess I just don't really get that point or why he didn't show any concern about who he thinks is sticking quiet in their bronze pool as LHF.

My point with this wasn't that scum were specifically trying to misyeet Quiet
I was saying that I think we were just looking in the wrong place with him
At the time I made that post Quiet had come up as a potential elim for the day and that's roughly when I reconsidered
I had him in my elim pool earlier before he flaked. The replace out is key; it indicates that he was not lurking, but legitimately just had something else going or couldn't handle the game
