I don’t know whether or not Alchemist is scum or not but he definitely seems a better vote than chk. I still don’t know why Auro voted him.

But he’s pushing sr for not great reasons and he usually tries to sort more as town, so maybe?

I don’t know if you would call this a case on FL but honestly it feels to me like Chk gives an example of a Town Reaction while FL gives an example of a scum reaction.

Also The Collectors seems to be acting like “I won’t directly defend FL from being lynched but I don’t think they would die because they are FL”

Could you show where FL did a similar thing? Because chk kinda claimed vanilla.

Bunch of scavengers in this town.
In post 224, chkflip wrote:Absolutely lynch me I'm vanilla and it's so fucking dumb.

My life for you, mastina.
The timing of this vote swung the wagon on to me.

I don’t really think both of them are scum, unless one’s a traitor (sticking to the tinfoil), but I find it extremely hard to believe that one of them isn’t. I guess they both could be scum still, but meh.

First of all, Mastina’s reasonings for scum reading me are absolutely nonexistent and she’s actively waiting until more stuff happens in this game rather than explaining.

Secondly, Mastina was NOT coming across well in our 1v1, and you can tell by looking back that I was getting town read, and she had no base, and then Chkflip comes in and votes and helps the swing, then immediately gets “mad” and claims vanilla, which is the whipped cream, and I’ve already explained why i think that’s just poor.

If he’s town pr doing it, then great, I’m helping him out with all this junk in the trunk.

By no means is it AI enough mixed in with the incredibly political vote, incredibly game changing time of the vote.

He’s also faking being mad, (maybe he is actually, but it ain’t townie, NAI at best) and I’m the leading wagon.

Mastina’s exit is incredibly scummy as well because it transitioned the heat from her onto myself AND Chkflip.
Have you ever played with chk before? He always seems mad.

This. The vanilla claim should basically be ignored considering how unprompted it is. It could be true, it could be fake for reactions. We have no real reason to talk about it or push it. Wolvescan take back the claim just as town can. Really, anyone who pushes this as towny/scummy should explain why.
In post 410, Flavor Leaf wrote:Firebringer said he was informed of me being town, which is proof that my wagon is incredibly scum driven.
I doubt Firebringer really has information proving you are town or he would’ve been much more serious with his claim. If he’s serious he should say so. But from what I get he’s just being carefree. At least, that’s the attitude I’m getting. I don’t think you really believe this to be true. I’ve avoided voting your slot mostly because you’ve become a giant spotlight in the game, but if you had fewer votes I’d probably consider it.
And for all of his talk, sr chk wagon, his vote is still on someone who was never even on it.

Wolvescan take back the claim just as town can. Really, anyone who pushes this as towny/scummy should explain why.

This feels rather random, the reads part especially. Do you have any reasons to scumread the players you just named? I dislike that you came in here saying you dislike the main wagons but did nothing to really change the fact. It feels like just placing down reads to see what will stick.

Doubling, tripling down on tvt. Chk thinks if you don’t accept a bad read on you from him lying down, you’re auto “flailing” scum.

@FL

Not yet convinced on Alch town but I think PB’s vote on you, on you did look opportunistic. I also didn’t like Mastina’s brief vote on TSE either but if you can convince me on Alch town and that scum is definitely on your wagon, PB’s vote on you is the worst imo.

I'll give you a pass for now for not saying hi!!

I meant that she's not 90% sure as she's preaching; mastina is super cereal about her percentages all the time, but this time I think she's pumping up her numbers 'cause it's FL we're talking about. I think it's the right thing because getting FL lynched is a pain in the ass so I would pump up my numbers too.

You think she’s jester? Although we don’t even know there is one, there could also be a lyncher and her vote is the worst because I think FL towntold.

I don’t know how to read Mastina this game. She’s NAI for me rn. I have seen her make that kind of opening as both alignments. But I’ll have a better idea, if she stays on FL or I don’t tr her reasons for doing so.

Null because of your first post with or being a Town read.
I wasn’t on Mena because at the time I viewed FL as most likely scum with top wagon.
And another reason is Mena wasn’t Top Wagon.
TBH as long as my Town reads are still alive we can win via PoE.

I had sheeped Flavor's reasoning onto the chkflip wagon.
Nancy thinks deathtunneling is NAI, but his ISO doesn't look towny - does anyone have a case for town!him?
(Apart from his claim and desire to be lynched)

DEB, why not move your vote to Firebringer if he feels iffy?
We played before, but I don't recall - would you say you generally have (nearly) zero (meaningful) content at 30 pages of gameplay as town?

PB, hi! I don't believe you would want to lol lynch FL D1 as town. Do you have prior towngames where you advocate for a policy?

Mastina, are you willing to BoP yourself on a Flavor flip? Did you catch FL successfully in past games using this "tell"? Link the games, please.

Elsa, can you explain the vote change between Mastina and FL?

I'll move it there if it's the hammer.
Generally D1 I won't give you too much, I'm here to have fun on D1. And that's from either alignment. Not much can be done on D1 imo. People have yelled at me saying D1 is the most important. Whatever. To each their own.
I think DEB is town.

I’m at work, but I can answer this while I’m on break. Ank is asleep.

I think you might be misunderstanding the way Ank approaches the game, or at least is approaching this game. The list she posted isn’t exactly “these are my scum reads” but “these people aren’t my town reads.” Meaning some of those, like Firebringer, are still null, but more likely to be scum than any of her town reads. I have a few divergences from her but I can answer the Alchemist question because I’ve scum reading him as well.

It mostly has to do with how he re-entered the thread after he pushed you. He had these really awkward pop ins that didn’t comment at all on the dearth of content that had happened, nor progress his push/engage with you at all. I can link these posts specifically when I get home later. It just felt like a really odd way to rejoin the thread from a town perspective. If that doesn’t make sense I’ll point out exactly what I mean when I’m not on my phone.

-Diana
It’s hard to tell with him. He was super obvscum in that TK game but otoh, he completely fooled me in SC 2, and it was kind of pinging me as well. I definitely did think he way over reacted to CG, so maybe?

You will definitely sheep me about that slot and at first glance they're town, but Nancy is more readable under pressure (not necessarily wagoning her, but having to take a stance towards a wagon or another, for example, and that hasn't happened).
And it rarely does for me early game especially on D1. Once in a blue moon, I do get lucky however.

So the first thing is that we actually don't know who has access to the neighbourhood. My theory is that if there is a scum who has access, they would stay quiet and never post in there, and just get info from us. So then I thought Mena (collector) is town for talking with me in there. I then thought that my initial theory was too crazy, and that nothing is going to get done if we don't properly talk in there. So then I wanted to claim to each other, But I was fine with roleclaiming first in there btw, and then Mena just ghosted until I called him scum, then he started pushing me in thread.

If you don’t know who has access to your hood, why not ask the mod? But why would you want whosever’s in there to roleclaim, if in your opinion, it isn’t safe? I would never want myself or anyone else to claim in my hypothetical insecure hood and why would you be shocked that calling Mena scum in your hood, would lead to him pushing you in the main thread?

Also, what reasoning did you provide for sr him in the first place?

I also don’t understand why you don’t know who’s in your hood? Did Krazy tell you other players may have access or something? because usually the members of the hood are known to all of their participants.

I honestly don’t understand your thinking here.

It’s really weird that you don’t even know for sure who’s in it. That said, why would you ever want to roleclaim if you thought there could be lurking scum who could see it? I don’t really see how that comes from a Town mindset.

Fellas, even Mena can confirm that we don't know who has access to the hood unless they post.
What did Krazy say?

~Fu
Krazy said that I will know who has access to the neighborhood if they post in the hood and that there will be no mod confirmation on the number or identity of participants other than that

As a followup to my last post since the quote fucked up, I even explained that I thought my initial theory was too crazy. Did you even read Alchemist?
Okay, so why do you then think it’s ever a good idea for you or Mena to roleclaim? I’m assuming there’s no one else in your hood yet other than you and Mena, right?

Yes I read it, I just don't really believe it. Like, I believe you when you say you don't have a definitive list of who's in the hood. What I don't believe is that you saw this, thought there could be secret scum in the hood, then decided it was a good idea to roleclaim. Even without that bit, you still haven't explained why you expected Mena to treat the hood as a Masonry as you proposed and just claim to you? Just because you claimed first doesn't mean anything because anyone who's played in Krazy's games know that scum have fakeclaims (and this is also explicitly stated in the rules for the game).
As I said, when Mena posted in the hood before me, I discarded my initial theory and started talking with him. I also felt like since the item we use to talk in the hood can be scavenged, there probably only is 2 people in the hood at a given time. In order to + trust, I figured claiming in there would be beneficial. Also scum have fake 'role' claims? I'm not talking about flavour. Then he ghosted.
But why would you expect him to trust you with role claims? and also, scum could potentially get access to your hood and the role claims will not get redacted.

In post 997, mastina wrote:Right, caught that there was an alimidia wagon here, and that's another read that there's a pertinent change on.
Alimidia was the other mistake I made other than the herpderp on Dats Mist (who, spoiler alert, are currently my top townread).
alimidia was originally so high because I thought they made posts which I gutread as town--this was a mistake as at the time of my readslist, they hadn't posted.
I was expecting them to be a much higher poster, so that read dropped initially...but like TSE whose posting increased, alimidia's posting went into territory which I thought was initially more likely to be town than scum.

It's still lower than I'd prefer to see and alimidia is not a top-tier townread from my skimreading and yes I desperately need to get a more nuanced read there which my readthrough will hopefully give me because there's still a rather significant chance of alimidia being scum, and I feel like a proper readthrough would give me a proper read on the slot to sort it properly. Right now it's a lazy "more likely town than not" read but given the wagon there I need to get it into a more firm definitive stance which I feel like I can do, I just need some time to do it.
I think Mastina is town here despite me disagreeing on her Eclipse read.

No, I meant, I can talk to all three of you about that in the hypotheticals. I was essentially stating how strong of a duo I can be with the entirety of your hydra as Town/Town in a general sense because I didn’t like Mastina’s take on “Ankamius is the chosen one” mentality.
I interpreted it to mean that she thinks obvtown!Ank dies early, similar to RC. I don’t quite get why she’d think scum!Ank would be useful though but I’m hard tr her slot regardless. I think she’s wrong on you though. You sound very similar here to No Deadlines’ game.

I actually think that this is probably Ankamius as scum, but.
We need her regardless of her alignment.

If she is town, we absolutely NEED her to have a hope at winning this game. Plus, scum will kill her N1 anyway and even if not, will kill her if she is town, no need for us to be suspicious of her.

If she is scum, we still NEED her because she's the sanest voice of reason we have and even with her being scum, we don't have a chance in fuck of having any semblance of cohesion without her help.

When you get to your reads list, I'm most curious on how you're reading me specifically; it feels weird that you've singled out the harder to read player of this slot as a scum read and avoided mentioning me, who imo should be a much easier read.

Also, uh... If you're town, cut out the "utility town read" stuff please. We're both good town players but you're adding obfuscation to both the game and the ability to read you accurately. Don't admit the scum read from your reads list.

But other then That what else is there to do?

Great idea, let’s waste TPRs on town. Brilliant.
Does this mean you also think Mastina is Town?

If Timeshift is any indication, Mastina often says things that are not apparent at a surface level until you look deeper.

Also, does scumMastina not do that kind of thing? Why wouldn’t scumMastina try to mimic that town thing?
Yes, that’s why I was nullreading her initially, because I have seen her play similarly as scum. The reason why I’m so sure she’s town here, is the very clear to me, anyway - townie motivation behind her most recent posts, very similar to Timeshift imo. I initially wrongly sr her in that game because she was pushing my slot for ridiculous reasons but then she made it clear that she was actually trying - unfortunately unsuccessfully - prevent my slot’s mislynch by forcing my slot to obvtown. She clearly saw it but unfortunately not enough other players did and then she tried hard to prevent it. Unfortunately, the woats in the game mislynched her two days after our townflip, where by any iota of logic, she ought to have been townlocked because of that.

@Fu, Sure can. When I entered, PP scumread Clover. Clover should be locktown to someone of his skill. Second, PP accused me of reading more than I actually had. Third, he is a rather passive and bad vote on Ali to me. Fourth, he just feels to hostile. Particularly when I asked TSE for his read on him.

It wasn’t intended to come across as arrogant. Why isn’t her play in Timeshift enough for you to understand what I’m talking about? You just need to read and reread and then reread her most recent posts some more and discern if her motivation is protown or scum and to me it’s blatantly protown and yes because - and excuse the incorrectly inferred “arrogance” here but did it ever cross your mind that I may actually be right here or you just can’t imagine that I’m capable of correctly reading her motivation here?

Oh yeah we’re definitely on a scum wagon RN.
Scum appears to be attempting to get us off of it before it’s too late.
But they are figuring we have the Town Tree in place.
With that, Scum Auto Loses.
Or, scum are just perfectly fine with the gamestate with a stalled wagon on town ali. If a wagon is stalled and it's on scum what are the other scum doing right now? I don't get how you think stalled=scum when it's more than likely the opposite. Even if I dislike using that line of logic at all, if you're going to go down it I'd question how you come to that answer.
+1

When people push wagons without adequately explaining them and expect you to be somehow psychic as to why they’re scum and just take their word on it, it drives me nuts.

*/in before I get called a hypocrite wrt my Mastina read but sometimes explaining why you hard tr a slot isn’t always protown, and that’s all I’m going to say about it.

Unless there is a wagon on mastina or Ank, I am happy to defer my read to Nancy there. Both are skilled, talkative and vote a lot. So the can lead us to more scum if they are. I think Ank and mastina share an alignment.

In general any 'outside influence' is discouraged
But it should be okay if it’s public and doesn’t involve an ongoing game. Quotes from a sign up thread were used in SC 1 and you didn’t object, so why would you have a problem with it now?

You can quote completed games and any locked thread in general. Please do not quote unlocked topics where people can reply or threads that people don't have general access to (gtkas). Prolonged discussion of off topic material is also prohibited.
What if the unlocked topics are public? Why is that not okay?

According to a public post by tw, what you’re describing is 100% NIA for Mastina and therefore, a bad reason to vote her.

This is what I got the mod’s express permission to post. I’m allowed to paraphrase not link until further notice. :/

Mastina could be the counter. If Alimida flips scum, then I’d look to both wagons. If town, probably just that wagon?

Why does Auro hard SR chk!slot?

I don’t really think you shopping around is scummy but mostly because I’m sold on PB town and I trust him to read you particularly

-collector general
He hasn’t been around that much lately but probably in part due to FL’s reasoning? I’m not really sure. I was tr that slot but I’m suspicious of Hectic’s Mastina vote, which is why I don’t have as strong an opinion on it as Titus. I think if there’s scum on Alimida, it’s probably not you though and definitely not DM.

What I find really fascinating is that Mastina is getting sr for having too much confidence on reads, which is actually NIA for her but we’re not really seeing that with TSE, who is actually going so far as lining up hypothetical vigshots. Having never played with him before I have no clue whether or not he’s tunnelly town or scum but I like his Mastina read, so . . . eh?

I also think very few people really get how I approach the game, and I think people who are encountering me as town for the first time when they’re town (which is what I think this is for alch) tend to SR my play because they don’t know what to make of it — if you think back, you did this yourself in AvP on D1 and acknowledged that I’m the type of player who gives you false positives

So I think this coming from alch is actually pretty strongly indicative of town not seeing what I’m doing or not understanding it and that lack of comprehension translating into a SR instead of trying to break out of the frame he’s approaching my play from within

-collector general
my general experience with alch is that he's more actively 'in' the game than this, like being more willing to stick his neck out

I don't think I've ever played with him as scum (except for one game like... half a decade ago) but his entrance to this game so lukewarm and it really hasn't improved, nor has his content

-Leona
It’s legit hard for me to tell. In TK game, he was flaming obvscum but he fooled me in SC 2. PB has locktowned him here but I am still null on his slot.

What I meant by “not breaking his frame” is like, he sees certain behaviours as scum!indicstive I think (e.g. friendly behaviour as trying to buddy and buddying as something scum does), and of those behaviours are approached from within that framework then yes, the person doing them will seem scummy. If he was to engage my behaviour
on my own terms
and still argue that was +scum for me, it would be him shitpushing something he knew was NAI which is in itself scummy

But given that he didn’t know who it was at the time (I believe he hadn’t checked the hydra key) then he was just seeing something he thought was a scum behaviour and pushing it

I think you’re town, so agreeing with PB here, who Titus hard tr. Like I already stated, whatever Alimida’s flip, and I still think town based off his emotional reactions which seem genuine but I definitely think regardless of flip, outside of Dats Mist and you, at least one scum is on his wagon.

+1

Yeah, his emotional reaction to it seems genuine. I hard tr DM though. But I disliked Alchemist’s initial push on CG even more. Him accusing GM of pocketing him and FL seemed kind of over the top to me but PB seems convinced on him town but based on SC 2, I could still see it. \_0_/

Like normally I think she’s a lot more hedging as town and talks more about how she has lots of flaws as a player and with her own reads, and that hasn’t been happening here like at all. She’s seemed crazy confident in herself being right in a way that doesn’t seem consistent with what I’ve previously seen in town!her doubting whether she’s got it right. Like I’ve seen her be confident in PoE pools or on townreads, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her enter a game and push someone as scum as hard as she pushed FL on as little evidence/reasoning as she had

Also, does this mean you’re not SRing alim either?

Also why do you think dats/mist are town?

-collector general
Is this addressed to me?

Their constant questioning of TSE’s ridiculously confident sr without giving any really good explanation for them as well as mindmelding with me on a lot of things but I don’t really like their vote on Alimida but they seem so obvtown otherwise.

I agree with Ank wrt Alilida’s reactions. It doesn’t read scummy to me.

the way she's been showing her confidence so far is scum!confidence

Really? I don’t think so and I really wish I had a hood with you and Dann to explain why I think you’re wrong. That’s easy, it’s 8 posts

First two are krazy explaining what the thread is and then announcing the day has started and the walkie talkies are now working

Next two are first me politely saying hi then demanding in all caps to know who the fuck else is in there

Next 2 are alim first saying hi back then saying he has a plan

Then I tell him to tell me what the plan is

The next two are first him saying we could treat it as a masonry and claim to each other

Then him saying that he thinks I’m scum

-collector general
Wouldn’t scum!Alimida be more likely to try harder to pocket you? Because I think if scum, he would obviously have an agenda and it would therefore be important to get you onboard, so him calling you “scum” while obviously silly, would seem to be contrary to whatever scum agenda he would have been pushing. right? It sounds more to me like bad town impulsively jumping to a bad conclusion than anything else. I still don’t understand his thinking wrt to either the masonry thing or the roleclaim but it sounds like he sincerely believed it.

As is the case for most people. Scum like to pocket different people in the game and they spread out and position themselves to do so. Town have limited information, so early game it’s extremely likely that it happens.
Possibly, wouldn’t necessarily surprise me based on some recent games.

Well Mastina’s never wrongly sr me, so if she did say I was scum here, I would 100% think she was scum in this game. Now in MBoS, she also obvtown read my slot. What made that different was that, my slot in that game wasn’t being widely tr and she really seemed kind of off to me in that - similar to how she did in RC uPick and Minuet. She also seemed pretty genuine in trying to out SS fake post-restriction thing. I also liked SS’ response to that as well.

I wish I could be in a masonry and fully explain why I feel so confident on her town. I think some of her recent posts prior to the spam thing, she was in her Mastina way showed a clear townie motivation. The problem for me is if I’m right about that and I think I am, wrt to what she was trying to accomplish in them and I actually state what I think that is, I would then be undermining it.

No shade. I feel like if you can put together and not clear people based on town reads and figure out scum actively doing that, you’ll have a few full game solves coming your way.
Noted, I’m not locking in anyone yet and I will prioritize play/votes > meta. I still think meta mattters but not when it contradicts the other two.

Nancy said I was confbiasing which really confuses me they were asking the same questions I was just without the vote.
Ank didn’t say anything but yikes.

And I don’t think Alimdia turning around and calling you scum because you didn’t reply is Towny. Maybe I spend too much time on reddit but
it reminds me of NiceGuys(TM) who try to get someone’s attention and when it doesn’t work they resort to negging

I was trying to understand their mindset, where as you already seemed to have your mind made up. I just don’t understand the scum motivation for alimdia calling CG scum in their hood unless it was an omgus. Regardless of whatever Alimidia flips, I think CG is town.

@Alimdia, what is your take on my CG tr?

“NiceGuys(TM)” may be colossal assholes but they actually believe the bs they spew, so I really don’t get that comparison.

A Daycop investigates players during the Day instead of the Night. Depending on the format of the game, they may receive their results immediately or at the end of the Day.
I doubt he was being serious but was just stressing the level of his read.

Also, chill with the woat stuff while you're still my favorite hydra head.
I dislike when a player aggressively pushes reads as fact that I don’t agree with and that’s why - because how persistently he keeps insisting his reads are right and that we should just blindly follow, without him even clearly explaining why.

@PB, this is the way you should address this with me but I guess our friendship was probably never real, so meh.

You guys pushed him for things as scummy that I saw as townie, and I’ve already explained why I believe that him pushing and not voting is townie and not scum indicative. The wagon on him is even more indicative that he’s town.
