why would defending a mislynch be worse optics than the naked votes?

like, youre sitting here saying weird absolutes like "scum wouldnt defend a mislynch" and "the scum are in the lurkers and naked voters", when it should reasonably be a possibility to you that a scumteam is likely to have a combination of playstyles in it. %age-wise, sure, its more likely that scum is entirely within lurkers right now, but i dont really think its a great argument behavior-wise. its very surface level to be thinking about the game in terms of some broad absolute "hmmm scum and town are in these piles because of these behaviors" rather than actually analyzing people's behaviors SPECIFICALLY. there are posts that these players are making that you could be picking at or using as examples for why you think theyre town and youre instead holding up weird abstract general statements as to why you think a bunch of people are town or scum.

idk man it's just the feeling I'm getting with this setup, I haven't played it before and with how the guessing works it seems reasonable that scum wouldn't want to be in the pile of players that people are thinking about i;e the active ones.

to add on to my lurker theorem: if whoever gets mislynched and players are looking at the ISOs: players like errant, spiff, gork, etc have a good amount to analyze. But CES, Molla, UT, Katsuki, Mew? Total tossup. Might as well roll a die on them. Which is exactly what scum would want.

Whoever stays, won't be easy to guess, so i'll gladly trade my let's say 20% shot at win (i'm being generous ofc) for making scum squirm in round 1, if people voice agreement to this gambit

both times ive played in it one of the scum was very active and driving the gamestate
while the other was i) a lurker and ii) trying to play slightly under the radar because he hates scum [ :3 ]

that doesnt even suggest that there HAS to be an active and inactive scum here.
it just means that its not reasonable to guess scum's behavior in a broad sense because people generally play scum differently.

scum got lynched in the first game so there wasnt a flee, but in both games the less active player was under more suspicion.
would depend on the partnering.
