@tchill and Luca - I legitimately struggle with how to discuss my experience. Because I do think it's relevant. I also don't want to overplay it, because then I agree it looks like someone is trying to build in a preloaded excuse for bad play. Now that being said, I think inexperience is relevant as a lens to interpret newer players' play. E.g. if a read requires some level of experience to make, then a newer player will probably need that worked out for them or the read/tell isn't going to make any sense. In my first newbie game I had a level of confidence in my read that wasn't appropriate. When I'm looking at newer players, I now understand that what I perceive as the active newbies typical overconfidence is usually a result of the pressure that other players are putting on them to fit in and look town. After my first game where I made numerous comments about how bad I was playing, I had another town player tell me how scummy that looked. So that I cut out. And in this game I only mentioned that this was my fourth game in response to a question about my experience level.

So I legitimately don't know how to approach this. I'm playing more games (in particular games outside the newbie sub-forum) to get more experience, but until I get that experience, I'm gonna be inexperienced. If it felt like I was using that as a crutch in RVS then I guess that's fair. But RVS to me doesn't really give me much. Cases I can analyze. RVS feels sort of performative.

Something about this post rubs me the right way. I think this is a genuine/sincere post. It is totally NAI though. Just saying.

Because I haven't seen much that screams scum to me. Nobody's even crumbing or scum slipping! Oh, what has the world come to?

Luca - His whole ISO sucks. Nothing in there is actually substanial at all. All of his reads come across as making stuff up on the fly (a lot of times when he is talking about a read, he gives himself room for said read to go either way). He's not really taking any risks and is in general playing really safe. I really want to see Luca go after something instead of just do nothing. Because a lot of what his ISO is nothing. And anything that like, remotely looks like analysis is really surface level stuff.
54 is just a gut scummy start mostly because I don't like the fact he has to feel like he has to have a stance first thing.
His shade in 85 is bad and comes across as scummy.
The Klick stance in 214 just sucks because the way he presents it, it really seems like it could go either way depending on what happens.
224 kind of just sucks. I'm not buying the "scum who is at a loss of what to do" narative at all because when I was reading that, I was generally liking that interaction with Billy.
318 is bad because its him just saying that Klick is town over and over again. The individual points aren't anything thats new. Also in the way its presented itself, I dislike this because he's just saying the samething over and over again. Like, he's trying to look like he's solving, but nothing in that post is actually adding anything new to the game. Its just non-stop praise and I don't like it.
Also apparently, accoriding to you, 325 contains content but it doesn't? Like, that can be faked.
488 is opportunistic. The narative being built here sucks. The vote is just scum.

Icon - I like Datisi so I don't like how Icon is pushing it. I hate how I'm immediately attacked in 593 while I'm catching up. I also kinda feel like Icon is definitely trying to control the game in a way I really don't like. Like, the threat in 618 kinda comes across as "how dare you question my authority." I state a scumread on Luca and that I'm not completely buying the Datisi wagon and I'm being attacked for it because its "not current" like????? Also, I'm really not buying how his confidence level goes from "maybe we're all town" to "I have this super confident read on Datisi. I'm using words to make it look like I WAS uncertain to make it look like I'm trying to solve, but I actually just had this really confident scumread the whole time hahahaha." Not to mention what the original fuss was over, is completely irrelevant. "Devoid of Life" and "Fake" who cares they both mean the samething. It seemed just really semantic to me.

OK. Now that I know what pings you about Luca, why do you think Icon is scum rather than town making a bad push?

I maybe crazy, but after having finished reading I think I TR Iconeum harder now, while -at the same town- still maintaining a TR on Datisi. (If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but having been in several fights with Iconeum in the past I know this could very well come from town!him, and I also sympathize with Datisi because she is taking my role in that fight).

And allow me to point out (@Ali) that I think you probably misread 618. I didn't get the feeling he was mad at ou challenging his authority at all. Read it again, if you will.

As for Billy & Klick.. the "test" made me feel good about the both of them. Billy town!slipped, and I thought Klick did too, but I also asked myself "Why would Klick come clean and admit it wasn't a town!slip on his part when he could have just ridden it and enjoyed the Town cred?")

Update: Your slot (Ali) seems town enough to me now. I dunno how to exactly phrase it into words, but the way you play .. I dunno.. doesn't have enough fluff and no signs of manipulation has been detected.

So, it's Luca/Nips/Tchill if I had to consider a lynch pool based on PoE, but I don't have a case on any of them, and I may even have reservations on going full force on someone like Tchill whom I've seen play just like that as town.

Nips is a "fox", which is why I'm being wary of him, but to tell you the truth I am not sure he had done anything scummy either. It's just paranoia if I wanted to be honest.

Finally, Luca.. I can see your case on him, but I also thing you're being too aggressive to the point he cannot rationally argue back (I know the feeling too... ). My point is, I know I have to be wrong on someone or the other.. (two of them in fact), so I'm just waiting for someone to actually slip (or come close) so that I know what's what. Else, I think I'd need a flip to start connecting the dots, and that's bad in itself because it's more of a Micro (who decided to put 9 players setups in the minis??)

Bottom line: Forget anything I said at will, but Iconeum is most likely town here.

While I was catching up, there was a time where everything that sprung on my mind was also said by Datisi in-thread. Every single thought "I would have" brought up at that precise time she brought up around the same time.

I also agree the wagon on her formed too easily that I can hardly see without scum at least contributing to it.

As I said.. I may be biased. I had been in that exact situation with Iconeum before.. and more than once, and every time it turns out we're both town. I did explain it, and I did say I could be wrong because I am biased but that's how I feel.

Maybe I'm mixing sympathy with a TR, but you're forgetting about the other factor now: The speed her wagon built up vs how slow Kop's wagon formed.

I am not saying Kop was scum. I am saying this town isn't the type of town to rush for a wagon. That is what Kop's wagon tells me.
Now why would that mentality suddenly change with Datisi? It's not like we have a Cop Guilty on her. Right? So it follows that wagon was more likely supported by scum. Scum are usually reluctant to join wagons on an inactive because and inactive is no threat to them. It's easier to line them up for a mislynch down the road than to flip them on D1. Scum join wagons with cases on them, and most likely cases that have been pushed by others (i.e. by town) so that when the lynchee flips town they can go back and blame that townie and get them mislynched next.

And since that Datisi wagon there has been a pretty big tidal shift as well, which suggests a struggle.

Btw, I can see scum motivation behind Ali regardless of Datisi's alignment; obviously if they're both scum then the motivation is obvious. If Ali is scum and Datisi is Town then either way the result would turn out pretty well for scum; I'm lynched and then Datisi is vulnerable, and if Datisi is lynched and flips Town then Ali can continue the tunnel on me with added enthusiasm. I could imagine this scenario is a game where there are so few mislynch targets available.

Well, knowing Ali I can assure you this is not how he plays scum. I suggest you do a quick meta check on him. He's been active again of late (after he had not played for a while) so you can certainly find recent examples of his play as either alignment.

Iconeum: Claimed PR. Crumbed it pretty obviously before "fake claiming" another PR (but same function). I buy the claim that he targeted Ali, but I am confused as to why he would if he thought Ali was likely the NK. All in all you don't lynch the ONLY claimed PR in the game. For all we know he could be the sole PR we have here.

Luca Blight: He was pressured for most of D1 (the part after Ali subbed in) yet he didn't stutter or falter. If he is scum I'd commend him for his steal nerves. I think his reaction was well composed and even his anger sounded genuine to me.

Lil Uzi Vert: I auto SR LUV, so that's not it. Billy was so relaxed for a newb scum and that "test" really works in his favour. Also the timing of his replace-out would be odd for a scumster as it was clear the pressure is totally off his slot.

Klick: Natural ungated thoughts even if he seems to go against the louder voices. He only cares to show his own thoughts as clear as possible and doesn't seem to care about the consequences.

Datisi: This may be the most inexplicable TR of mine in this game. I had her as Town early on from tone, but then I didn't see a single thing that made me reconsider. It doesn't help that the pushes against her were bad and that;s probably what Ali saw and thus decided to throw his weight behind saving her.

Almost50: That's me. I only have my role PM to argue with (and it's not available to any of you, so I perfectly understand). If I was a bypasser I'd wonder what this slot has done to be TR'd, but I also have the advantage of knowing me and knowing I'm not this passive as scum.. like EVER.

Tchill13: I killed the notion to pressure you on D1 because you were acting exactly the same as the previous game when you got lynched on D1 and were town. I sometimes feel for people who continuously get ML'd early on (ask Cheeky. I think I've defended her as both alignments as she is one of those slots people just love to vote early on). Today you are probably the one who is trying the hardest to get the game moving, so if I was going to null read your play on D1 I sure am TRing you on your D2 play.

So there! Now help me see the light by poking wholes in my short analysis on whomever you wish to. Just don't try to use something that could be seen from a different angle, because as long as it's debatable then I am more likely to hold on to my own view. But tell me "this is wrong because..." and I'm game.

A50, I feel as though the case against Icon is fairly solid. Can you look over it and tell me why what he's done isn't scum-indicative? I could use a fresh pair of eyes.

I'm sure you do, but I would say it's 50-50 at best. I think we give "our ONLY investigative" another night. If he was scum and we had another investigative they would have checked him on N1, or -at the very latest- would be checking him tonight.

The problem with the massclaim is it also outs the protective (if any). If there's no protective, Icon is dead 100% of the time if he is town.

So let me put it this way:

Massclaim >> Doctor is outed >> Doctor is shot (regardless of Icon's true alignment)
Massclaim >> No Doctor >> Icon is dead (assuming he is town)

No Massclaim >> Icon has a chance to do something beneficial (if he is town)
No Massclaim >> An investigative flips or they get a result on Icon.. or they catch the other scum and then claim and we lynch them both (the caught scum and Icon)

In Team Mafia you replaced out and still your slot got lynched on D1

In mini Normal 2041 you also got lynched on D1

The only other game I have with you is Open 713 and you were also MISlynched, only it was D4.

Now considering I lynched you myself (i.e. was on your wagon) in 2041 & have had a SR on your slot in TM O am wary of the fact. 713 doesn't even really count as I was scum and I also was dead.

If you are Town then I’ll be really disappointed. I can understand feeling out of sync in a game, but if you’re not even going to try then what’s the point? You’re just letting the rest of us down, as there is no way to really distinguish whether you scum who has given up or Town who is not bothered. If you think anything I say or do will help you're far off base. Both Tchill & Icon have decided I should be lynched and there's no way to change that. ANYTHING I say or do will be seen as a scum move by me. Suppose I suddenly decided to effort. "That's scum him trying to get out of the nooze". Suppose I stayed the way I am.
