Sometimes, the best way to defeat your opposing force is to let them make their mistake. Often people misjudge what others know, and act so as to reveal extra information.

A new Day dawns, and its time to go back to work. Sometimes, if it persists for long enough, even the most dire of threats becomes routine and almost mundane. Just as nurses, supply middlemen, and factory workers will all shift into place to accommodate a war effort, so to will these very workers adjust their lives, making their new position normal. A war of opposing forces is just another day on the job, another chance to make bread, or help the world, or even give your time to.
People can get used to anything, given the correct circumstance, giving much needed room to an otherwise Black and White drama.
Some people, at least. Others will of course be consumed by the conflict.
