Correction: I would've let Night 6 run its course if pisskop or davesaz were lynched as well.In post 8797, Ircher wrote:Night 6 would play out if Radical Rat was lynched, and the game would've continued to day 7 if clidd were lynched. In post 8794, Hoctac wrote:I guess it was a little disorienting not knowing my allies. Would the game have continued if we had an Ari lynch?

Pretty crazy, and I've never seen town be this apathetic before. In post 8783, Covid 19 wrote:The first thing to talk about is replacements. There were an insane number of replacements this game. I don't know what the record for most filled replacements in a single game is, but I am sure this one comes close.-

also because alchemist was wondering in dead thread, my survivor claim weird shit was def me being really bored and mis-thinking that we were in lylo so i decided to survivor gambit as a last ditch effort to catch the scumteam since i thought the game was pretty much doomed if people were going to get exponentially infected ( i didn't even realize natural cures)
i thought you were acting increasingly scummy and i would've infected you so i thought you were scum but idk what you meant by me crumbing that you were infected lol-

I most admit, I was shitting my pants when I almost got lynched here! XD XD
Like, I knew I was not scum, infected, or cured. I was ready to go into the nust day (D7?) Analyzing this "flashwagon" counterwagon to what was literally claimed scum/infected! I know it didn't look like it, but I was playing the long game partially in order to not get infected or killed and stay off the lynch radar. I had the feeling about infected people being cured over time and that is a huge part of why I was gunning for groupscum only! The wagon analysis off my lynch, had it happened, would have been whack! And had the game not ended with Gobbles' lynch, I'd have mined the shit out of that wagon for the scum on it!
My real question for the Mod here isWTF DID JAKE ASK that got him such a weird response!? XD XD
Like seriously, I am still perplexed!
Uh...I need more emotes. Shit.

It was hilarious forming it!In post 8809, Aristophanes wrote:this "flashwagon" counterwagon
I was planning to out myself as either scum or infected who could infect, and then threaten to infect&kill anyone who would dare to lynch me (who was not already cured).-

Yeah, their operating assumption for most of the game was that doing so would just decrease their majority so they wouldn't do it. I don't know what point of converting people to your own alignment is if you have to kill them right after. In post 8807, OkaPoka wrote:well scum didn't even know about natural recoveries lmao i don't blame them for not killing off their own infected-

You voted where Pisskop wanted when he was likely infected which made no sense until the next Day when you had us both as infected and I was like “how does he have me in his infected reads alrea- oooohhh,” and everything seemed to make sense. In post 8805, OkaPoka wrote:also because alchemist was wondering in dead thread, my survivor claim weird shit was def me being really bored and mis-thinking that we were in lylo so i decided to survivor gambit as a last ditch effort to catch the scumteam since i thought the game was pretty much doomed if people were going to get exponentially infected ( i didn't even realize natural cures)

i just think this setup played itself rather than us playing the setup
sure we could've hypothetically figured out parts of the setup, but so many hidden mechanics and no roles to help piece together the puzzle makes it impossibly hard to not brush off even correct theories. maybe in a future where setups with many hidden mechanics like these are standard, this would be a good setup, but right now the setup had too many hidden layers for us to really be players with agency.
i think the truly bastard element of the setup was the subversion of expectation of what is optimal play. its a cult game, and the expectation of a cult game is to kill off the recruiters, piecing together infected can recruit is i guess reasonable-esque, but the expectation of balance and expectation of minimizing swing makes it hard to think about having exponential infection growth through the infected and natural recoveries. those mechanics are just so inherently swingy, that even if someone brought up that theory, it probably would've been ignored. after all, the core idea of mafia shouldn't be to stall and wait for the problem to disappear, but its about the active threat of an informed minority faction, forcing town to take action by virtue time is against them. there needed at least to be roles that had extra info about the setup i think.
re: alchemist
me sheeping pisskop was me acting under the assumption that infected knew about parts of the scumteam at least (full blind traitors felt wrong to me), so I thought he might have been revealing a scumbuddy so I could cure him ( i was gambitting myself as a curer if you remember-

Oh seems like I had another misunderstanding too. Alchemist, you were still infected on your last day of play, is it? I thought cures happen at the end of the night, not beginning, and that you played the day as a totally devious town planning to catch us all.
Lmao, seems like in my head I was playing a completely different game.-

I thought cures happen overnight, and people are informed they're cured at the start of the day; instead of them being infected through the day and cured at night start
I also thought certain PRs would be able to infect others, because they naturally target people - so instead of targeting X with a NA you instead target with the infection, while vanilla people just stay put.
How come Pisskop didn't infect anyone? Like was he quarantined etc?-

(I will also note that I think this is one of those games that sound a lot better/cooler in theory than they are in practice.)
pedit: Natural recovery was start of night; other cures were end of night. pisskop is the reason Blair died.-

i think if you want to deviate heavily for standard norms of ms.net and have hidden mechanics that play a signifcant role, you gotta have some flavor roles at the very least that makes it more obvious that there are these mechanics
like idk, town researcher- if you target infected you learn something about the disease (in this case people can recover naturally)-

Thanks, I liked yours too! And you did somehow manage to get me to at least not scumread you, despite my better judgement. In post 8791, Auro wrote:I was oneverymislynch wagon this game, and was only absent on Gobbles' lynch wagon. I was very afraid of replacements coming in and wrecking me.
Radical Rat, I liked your play!
I'm glad I replaced into this game, it was really fun and the mechanics were neat
